Hi! I got diagnosed with Celiac Disease a little over a week ago. Before that my husband and I were thinking about trying to get pregnant. I am very new with the gluten free diet and everything that goes with being Celiac. I have not been pregnant before and obviously want to get healthy before that happens. Does anyone know how long we should wait before trying to get pregnant? Or any thoughts and suggestions for me? Thanks!1St Blog....ever
Just diagnosed with Celiac Disease and I'm trying to stay positive. I've lost 15 lbs. (didn't really need to). I've been gluten-free for about 2 weeks and starting to feel better, I guess. I have a good career but never have time to plan and prepare these meals for myself let alone regular dinners, etc for the family. I was diagnosed with Celiac's disease in 2004 but have yet to go completely gluten free. I try and try but get so dang frustrated. I try to bake bread but seem to mess it up. If I get it right then it goes bad quickly. I have no patience for preparing "everything" that I eat and no will power. John Scott pointed me to Wiki entry about the effect of diet on hookworm egg production: https://www.helminthictherapywiki.org/wiki/NA_incubation:_very_detailed_method_by_Alana#Promotion_of_egg_viability_by_dietary_manipulation
Nothing presently in my diet was mentioned in the article, but it does bring up the obvious point that my diet would naturally affect the health and wellness of the hookworms that live in my gut. Something to think about.
