Continuing Gluten Free...one Week Now
Well today being Tuesday, July 26th, I am one week gluten-free for the first time in years. Not seeing any improvement in my sleep yet, but I guess that will take time. Not sure if it is the gluten that is causing me my sleep problems. I had a doctor's appointment yesterday and we are going to try Tryptophan for my sleep. So I am anxious to see if that helps in any way. I read on one of the Celiac sites that our bodies don't absorb the tryptophan from our foods and that could be the cause oBrief H/o My Cd

some people are brilliant..... i went to a fast food restaurant today, ordered a cheeseburger, no bun of course, with lettuce, onion, tomato. they bring it out in the little dish, and had placed the cheese on the bottom of the burger! so basically it was stuck to the dish and I had a hamburger. didn't realize I had to tell them how to do that even....had a soft stool this morning. that's unusual since I had one last night. I felt lighter in the stomach area last night but still bloated inIntroduction
<p>Hi there. I'm 48 years old, and I was diagnosed with celiac disease in December 1998. It was a very sad time for me. I knew I should be happy that my medical problems could be solved by diet alone, without dangerous drugs and bad side effects, but still, I wept every night for the beloved foods I had to give up, and I mourned the ease with which I had formerly dined in restaurants and friends' homes. I was single, and I thought my social life (pathetic as it was) was over. Who'd want toSoups

So my earlier comment about my nephew's wedding was written yesterday but apparently I didn't actually publish it. I'm learning. So it's now today, or the day after, and I'm pleased to report that everything went well. My brother, who is also celiac and a bit paranoid, talked to the chef directly and she put aside two plates for us and gave us what we could eat, which was a lot since mostly the meal was salads and fresh fruits. My brother and I had a bit of a debate about whether we cMy Nephew's Wedding
I should be getting ready, we leave in an hour. But I wonder what I will be able to eat at the wedding (I have had my cereal to make sure I do not starve). They know my restrictions, but I am the least of their thoughts right now. I will report tomorrow on today...July 24, 2005
had a good day today.I met gfinnebraska, (thank you SO much for all the information and mixes)what a sweetie!had turkey and vegetables for lunch, had a chocolate craving this afternoon, Mom suggested having a couple of chocolate chips with a few almonds. it worked, got the craving out of my system.dinner was a chicken breast, mashed potatoes, cucumbers, red pepper strips and kraft ranch dressing.hubby and I talked for a long time about this and how we both need to take it more seriously. He sMy Life Story...
I don't remember much about my life before I was 3 years old. My mom passed away almost 9 years ago and my dad wasn't around much when I was a baby, so I have no one to ask if I had problems then. The first health problems I remember happened when I was 4 years old.I encountered a few traumatic events as a child. I know that any traumatic event can trigger Celiac, and I have wondered if that is what started it. When I was 3 my mom lost custody of my sister and I. We had been living in MissoAnother Gf Day
Well I think I managed to stay gluten-free at the church nusery today. Not always possible with all the kiddies eating their crackers and cookies...I came home, changed my crumb/saliva smeared clothes and scrubbed my hands. I made sure I didn't eat anything while I was there and didn't touch my mounth, but I still get nervous. I am glad it is only once a month. I am the Nursery Director at our church and when I started the job three years ago I was not gluten-free. Soon I will be gett5ing aAnother Day, Another Rice Cake Part 2
Wow, after reading a few blogs here and the suffering that so many celiacs have endured, I realize that I've had it easy!I have a very close family friend that had a mental breakdown when he was in his 50's. He was subsequently diagnosed with celiac disease so that's how I became familiar with the disease.Fast forward about 12 yrs. later and I happened to be talking to my uncle (mother's youngest brother) who, at the time, was about 54. He told me he had been losing weight by default. When IDiagnosis & How We Got There
Well, I just had a nice long nap and I will try and finish this. When I went to the doctor's and stated how I was losing weight, they ran the typical blood tests that came back negative. Thereafter I would go in with more of a weight loss and be greeted with the same statement from the nurse - EVERY TIME. "I don't know why you are here - You Look Great". Needless to say my blood pressure would rise. And I would also say the same thing each time. " I am not dieting, I am not bulimic and II Am A Christian
Okay the title pretty much says it all. I am a follower of the Lord Jesus Christ and I am not ashamed to admit that. Other than saying "God bless" at the end of almost each one of my posts, I try to keep my religious preferences off of the board. Not because I think they don't apply, but because I don't feel it is a place to discuss such issues. There are many people on the board from all walks of life, from all over the world and from many different religious (or non-religious) back-groundsStill Trying To Figure This "blog" Thing Out...lol
Well I am just starting my blog, not used to doing a diary everyday, but hey this might be fun.I am just back from Skagway, Alaska where we keep our boat and go fishing every weekend for shrimp, crab, salmon and halibut. Our freezer is full for the winter with fish, so have no excuse again for hitting the beef too much. It was so windy there this weekend, that we couldn't get out in the boat. Don't like those 5' seas. So we played wharf rat for Saturday, and decided to come home early this m-

This one page has all the information your friend needs.

And, if he's on Instagram, he might like to follow this young lady who's recently managed to get into drug-free remission by using helminths, after 13 very challenging years with Crohn's.
