Dealing...
So I'm avoiding gluten. I felt better than ever for about five weeks before I decided to eat out. I ate at a restaurant that apparently grills thier potatoes the same place as their bread for sandwiches. Big mistake on my part, I was sick for about two weeks. The things I noticed that came back were intense anxiety, headaches, sinus drainage, skin problems that look like psoriasis and fatigue big time. I don't think I even need to mention the stomach cramping, gas, diarrhea and bloating butGreetings From A Newbie/my Diagnosis Experience
This is my first post in the gluten-free forum. Please bear with me while I get familiar with the controls. (in case it posts twice or something.) I was diagnosed with celiac disease ten days ago. I was completely blindsided by the diagnosis. It was discovered during a series of tests I had for a routine physical. I also have hypothyroidism (underactive) and took a blood test to check my thyroid levels. My doctor also tested my iron levels and discovered that I was severely anemic. ThaFriday The 13th
I've had a run of bad luck lately. I got a letter in the mail with a color photo of me in my car- singing. It's a traffic light camera photo of me not making a complete stop before a right turn on red. Cost: $385. Went on a date with a guy who said he is in the FBI and it was nice, but the next day he text messaged me that he wanted to come over. I replied that I don't allow men to come to my home, and he called me, angry, telling me he can find out where I live. Finally, yesterday, FridIgnorance Abounds
Ack! I have a friend whose family is going through a terrible time. She has cancer for the second time, her youngest daughter has been diagnosed as bi-polar, her three y.o. son is out of control and won't behave, her husband won't help discipline the children. Seems the only one in the family without a major issue (other than living in such a chaotic environment), is the oldest daughter. So, anyway, I was doing a google search about the link between bi-polar and celiac disease. SeemsHow Rude!
The teckie that did my test last sunday told me that the doctor's office would get the results by wednesday....Well wednesday came and went with no call, so Thursday afternoon I call the doctor's office and tell the lady why I'm calling she says she will look into it and call me back.... Friday at noon I still hadn't heard so I called the office again, this is what I got "Thank you for calling the Doctor's office, if this is between Monday to Friday 9:30 am to 5pm we are in the office exceIt Wasn't What I Thought It Would Be!
You'd think with the world so advanced in technology, someone would take the time to make that stuff Telebrix taste better. Would it be that hard? Seriously, I don't know! The CTscan was nothing like I expected. I had an 11 am appointment, I wasn't allowed to eat 4 hours before the test so at 6 am - I was sleeping anyway Then at 9 am I had to mix the Telebrix with 450ml of water. So I got up at 8:30 and had 2 cups of coffee one after the other, I'm a self admitted coffeeholic and I hadEieio
So...my husband and I have been thinking about buying some land and becoming self-sufficent. We've been looking at various properties since last fall and trying to decide what to do. We finally made an offer on an 80-acre property a few weeks ago. Our offer was rejected, so we thought, "Well, it just wasn't meant to be." But the owners of the property e-mailed us just a couple of days ago telling us they changed their mind and will now take our offer. So now we're in a quandary. WhaTo Eat, Or Not To Eat
Ack! I have got to stop eating like a pig! My clothes are getting tight. I can't stand it. It doesn't help when everyone around me thinks I'm thin and smirk when I mention losing weight. I start thinking, "Well, maybe I'm not as fat as I think...yeah, in fact, I am lookin' gooood." Then I put my jeans on and try to button them. That's when reality sets in. I'm going to try to go back to eating low-carb. It's so hard because I love the carbs...chips, mashed potatoes, potatoesHow I Stay Fit
I don't drink coffee, eat fattening things like cheesecake/creme brulee, fast food, or much red meat. But I DO claim sugar as my vice. After 10 years of teaching, I'm the same size, and colleagues often ask me how I do it. Here are some ideas as well as Things I do to trim down for bikini season (my summer clothes are a size smaller than my winter ones- it's a midwestern thing, we're very season-oriented): Make sure you're only eating until you're NOT HUNGRY anymore, then GET UP (I feel4/3/07
I started this blog for something to do. Basically to keep my mind from sitting around drooling. I work for a large technology company, I'd mention the company name, but that would violate the agreement I clicked on when I started this blog. Besides I can't really defame them if I don't name them. Did I mention I hate this company that I've worked at for 28 years. That might sound odd, but it is true. It's a scumbag company that would suck the life out of you and throw your empty hSurgery Update
So I am going for a CT SCAN on Sunday.....Sunday? of a long weekend... Well I never It apparently is better than the ultrasound I was supposed to be setup for. Never had one before so it should be interesting. I have another issue going on in my life, a pretty big one - which may take time to work through! There was an incident where my father is buried and it's pretty creepy and extremely upsetting, needless to say I'm not having much luck being "good" with my diet. I'm trying, but tSea Fare
Hola! Back from Mexico! 10 teachers + 1 ship + tequila - kids = GOOD TIMES! Twas a nice first 4 days of the 2 week spring break! Carnival had a MANAGER come to my table the first night and explain what I could eat for the first two dinners. She said they'd make me special desserts... but much to my disappointment they didn't the first night...miscommunication between the waiters and the kitchen??? who knows. YES it was PAINFUL watching all 9 of my shipmates relish their chocolate souffleGotta Have More Surgery... :(
So I went to the doctors/surgeon's office today...and I have to have surgery to repair an insitional hernia I got when I had the last surgery to remove part of my bowel. which came about in the first place when they discovered I had celiac disease... the irony of it all... Now keep in mind, I have been sick and undiagnosed for 20 years, so imagine...if they caught it earlier all this crap now would have been avoided....OMG I'm furious!!!!! And since my last surgery I haven't really heaMarch 27, 2007 Feeling Good!
Even though the weather is changing with a rain storm coming in, I'm feeling really good! My joints don't hurt at all and I feel energetic, and this is a day after my mtx!! I would like to get all the pasta out of the house but hubby likes it. It's not really fair to deny him just because I can't have it. I feel like I'm losing a little weight but my scale is unavailable at the moment. The one thing i hate though is i have prednisone waist. I always had a smaller waist but it's really uHello Monday My Old Friend I Come With You To Talk Again
It was mothers birthday Saturday, which as ever presented the dilemma of omg! What am I going to eat and how not to cause too much fuss and too many arguments with the folks. We had the rest of the brood over in the evening and after some discussion it was agreed weMarch 25, 2007 The Full Monty Is Over :(
I am soooo tired. It's been 2 solid months of driving 160 miles every day. The play was great but everyone involved is exhausted. Now we have to get thru Much Ado About Nothing and THEN we rest! Tomorrow I don't have to go anywhere!!! The last few days I've had some problems with breathing. I felt like I do when I am around peanut dust or other peanut products. I then realized my wheat problem is the cause. I'd had two bites of pizza at a cast part Friday night and I could have swoIt's Been 4 Days And I Haven't Cheated!
I am very pleased with myself, it's been 4 days and I haven't cheated! Don't get me wrong, I haven't learned to cook or anything simple like that! But I've been working and I never really had the chance to cheat, BUT I didn't cheat cause I managed to eat only 1 meal a day! It was always dinner and even though it was pretty much the same thing twice chicken and potatoes and veggies for 2 dinners and fish potatoes and veggies for the other 2.... But at least it's a start on not cheatinUndiagnosed, help
I am 39 years old and until about 5 years ago enjoyed perfect health. In the last 5 years I have been diagnosed with gastro issues galore, chronic psoriasis (never goes away although treated with steroids and creams and antibiotics) and worst of all, hearing loss. The hearing loss is profound in both ears, and I am scheduled for cochlear implantation next month. Although these are only a few of my issues, not including the fatigue all my doctors agree it suggests auto immune issues. My husba...brand New...
...so i am new here and still trying to figure out the site....mostly what i am hoping for by joining is finding some one to relate to....i guess i'll start with how i ended up here... ...if i think about it i can remember being sick always....as a kid i always had a headache...i also had chronic sinusitis and what i thought of as skin rashes....my family did not have alot of money growing up so the doctors i saw were not top notch....example: when i was 12 i remember being sick and the doctorA Never Ending Saga!
Everyday it's the same battle - "what do I or don't I" eat? I don't want to sound like a wimp or anything but this sucks! 3 years and I can't figure it out! I have alot more information available to me now but it's got to be simple I can't say that enough! I don't want to make 3 course meals with fancy schmancey food and sauces. I want a fast great tasting meal at least 4 times a week, rest of the time I don't care - there is always fish - or eggs...but summer is coming and time for theLet Us Watch Well Our Beginnings, And Results Will Manage Themselves.
Salutations, By way of introduction I am a late (ever later) 20 something, gothique - like, over opinionated, liberal voting, chthonic, libertine female from the west middle lands of Englandshire. In my old age, I am beginning to fit far too well the terribly Victorian image of the domesticated aging spinster that I have mocked will be my future. I was given a Celiac diagnosis about 6 years ago, but promptly ignored it. I was young, I was at university, I was having lots of other-

This one page has all the information your friend needs.

And, if he's on Instagram, he might like to follow this young lady who's recently managed to get into drug-free remission by using helminths, after 13 very challenging years with Crohn's.
