So Celiac Is New To You
As I read stories of the new celiacs and the problems of finding out the answers to their questions, I am finding myself wanting to help in anyway that I can. This is a disease that is more than just eliminating gluten from your diet. There is so much more that is still unknown about this disease. Even if you leave gluten out as I did, I still remained very sick. I found out about a clinic in Chapel Hill, N.C., and made an appointment. Here they treat the whole person, not by giving you another pill, but by testing where you are sensitive in other foods as well. After removing these foods, along with the foods containing gluten, I noticed a remarkable improvement. This along with supplements, such as protein shakes, vitamins that my body was in need of improving, and most important taking myself off the hook of being perfect,(I am still working on this one),I am getting better, in baby steps. Stress is a part of our lives. Learning how to cope with your stress is so important, and easier said than done. I am far from being in good health, but I have come a very long way from where I was. I have good days and bad days. Today is a bad day. The 100 degree heat does not help. I have lost my voice, so it is hot tea and staying inside. Please do not hesitate to send me your story.
