Yesterday night was the first time I'd ever eaten out since being diagnosed. (I'm not counting flavored ices at stands and stuff like that.)

Celiac.com Sponsor (A13):
We (my dad and I) had a GREAT time at the Outback. The food was absolutely delicious, cooked to perfection (their wasabi -soy free - was GREAT!), but that's not what we paid for.

The customer service was super, and a waiter that helped us figure out exactly what I could and couldn't have on the menu. He even went into the kitchen to make sure that they did everything right. They had a gluten-free desert but I was so full by that time that I didn't order it. Afterwards the manager checked on us to make sure that everything was alright. I'd give this place a 5-star rating -even if the food wasn't perfect (and it was) -simply because of their great customer service. That's what we pay for.

Nestami, I'm very happy you enjoyed your Outback dinner. I would also like to recommend a couple of restaurants. P F Changs has the best gluten-free Spicey Chicken. Make sure you tell them you need to avoid gluten since gluten is in soy sauce (they have soy sauce that is made without wheat). They actualy have a "gluten free menu" with dessert.

Another place I enjoy is B D's Mongolian Grill. There you serve yourself from their meat/shrimp/vegetable bar. You need to bring your own Soy sauce if you want that. They only have two gluten free sauces, so bring your soy sauce. Additionally, they will grill your food on a special grill if you tell them you are allergic.

One other spot is Red Robin--they have the best fries in a "gluten free fryer". They will also serve you their hamburgers wrapped in a lettuce wrap (you can't have their seasoning since it has gluten).
