Ugh...i Hate Gluten

Gluten is everywhere. Why? And of all places to get Glutened... it was at my own house. From potatoes. Sure, they were the instant kind, but I shouldn't have trusted them. They are in fact made in a facility that I know produces wheat. And I'm sure that flour would fly throughout the air in that sort of place. The thing was, the bag had no gluteny ingredients listed, and the only allergy information on the package was "May contain traces of milk." And we wanted to finish that bag, because it seemed safe. But no... it wasn't.

Now I feel like crap. I feel the way I did before I started this diet. Nauseated (wish I could just throw up. but no.), pained, tired, and I just want to go home and sleep it off. It seems like it will be forever before I will feel better. Will it ever end? I hope it does. Otherwise, I have a problem...

oh, man, i hope you get feeling better soon!
i hear ya on the nausea but not being able to throw up... been there, done that lots of times (but not due to gluten, I've always had a hard time throwing up [i would never make a good bulemic. which is good 'cause i wouldn't want to anywho!]

Would something like pepto at least help w/ the nausea?

Food Labels like that are soo dang frustrating!!

and i understand about instant potatoes being such an unexpected place for wheat/ gluten to be... last year (when I was gluten lite, didn't decide to go gluten-free until a couple months ago)I attempted making Thanksgiving & christmas dinners completely gluten-free, and thought I had been successful, until a couple months later I discovered that a)the broth I used in the stuffing (the stuffing recipe was a gluten-free recipe) wasn't gluten-free :( and B) the Box of Betty Crocker Sour cream & Onion Instant Potatoes had wheat added...stupid me didn't check the label (who knew that wheat would be added to POTATOES????)... I never get the nausea/ diahrrea (I'm probably gluten intolerant. aint' gonna bother with testing), so I don't really ever have noticable symptoms when i accidentally ingest gluten... I'm just thankful I wasn't feeding any of my Celiac friends!... what's left of that box will be given to a freind of mine...

Sorry to hear about your glutening... hope you feel better soon!
TTYL!!

Yea, I aint got celiac disease, but I am definitely intolerant to it... But yea, who woulda thought gluten would find its way into potatoes... (As for the broth I discovered that my broth I keep in storage was gluten free which was somethin I did not expect. I expected I would have to get rid of that too...)

And in the way of throwin up, I can count the number of times I have thrown up in my life on one hand, and they have all (but one) been because of the same thing... My very bad intolerance to fish... Which thoroughly depresses me because I like fish...
