Hello Everyone!

Celiac.com Sponsor (A13):

I am new to this site! I've read a lot of different blog's on this site and I decided to share my story!

I have struggled with stomach issues for pretty much all of my life. I've had a hiatal hernia for the past 12 years. I have controlled it for the most part, up until recently. I have tried different things through the years. Mostly through diet! I eat very healthy, exercise alot, take my vitimins daily, no proccessed, artifical flavors, no nitrates, no fatty gressy, no dairy, no fast food, organic food, clean meat, clean home cook meals! I still have problems with my stomach here and there. I recently started having really werid symptoms; weak, tired, low energy, low immunity, stomach pains, really cold feeling, dizziness, head just not feeling right (flu-like). It was horrible! I couldn't figure out what was going on, almost like my body was lacking something! I went to the doctor and got a lot of blood work done, one being iron levels. My iron levels were on the low side. That might explain some of my symptoms! I still await my Celiac test. I have done a lot of research this weekend and read a lot of blogs on here, which totally points me to Celiac disease! I am almost positive that my test results will come back that I have Celiac disease. It totally explains my history!!! My research includes; if you have any kind of GI tract issues going on, you can't absorb all the nurtions, vitimins that your body needs, making your normal levels very low or inbalanced, especially during monthly for women! Then I realized that gluten has been the cause of my symptoms for most of my life!! I already eat a lot of Gluten-free foods, because my son has a gluten allergy. Although, not 100% Gluten Free. I have not eatten Gluten in 3 days, and I feel way better and my stomach isn't gassey or bloated! I started drinking Power Packs with vitimin C, potassium, antioxidants, 72 electroltes; and Raw iron with B's and folate acid, along with my raw mutli-vitmins, and fish oil (immflamation), D3's. I take those thoughout the day and in the evening the number one key to staying regular is Magnesium Calm (My total life saver) I wouldn't know what to do with out it! Helps with stress and also is great for kids! I also take a primadophilus 35 billion CFU every night before bed! For the most part, I'm feeling better. I still feel a little imbalanced with my iron, a little dizzy here and there! That will take time to get my body 100%! My advice to everyone is to keep in mind, make sure your meat is clean (no grain fed animals) I shop mostly at Whole foods and Vitimin Cottege! Read all the labels throughly!! Make sure you are taking all the vitimin supplements you need! I am researching, the best supplements to take for Celiac. Will make another blog for that. You may have other symptoms that is related to Celiac Disease that you don't know of! Also keep in mind just because certain foods are on the Celiac diet, that they won't effect you! I can not eat nuts, seeds, or peanut better, sun butter. It's sticks to my GI! Also, Dairy for normal GI tracts makes you gassy and can cause sinus issues! I do not have peanut, dariy, allergies. I just can't eat them! Rice products and most soy products are great!!! Instead of yogurt, I get Good Belly! It's awesome!

Also, a very important key to being healthy is to be mentally stable! Be happy and stress free!!! Try your best! Take care of yourself with a healthy messages and adjustment! I see my awesome Chiropractor at least once or twice a week! I have always had neck problems throughout my life, in which has been related to my stomach issues! I always feel so much better afterward! Research a good Chiro in your area! You would be totally surpise what they can do to help you or a loved one, even children!!!

I will keep my blog posted, once I get my test results back! Regardless, I will be staying on the Celiac Diet!!!

My test results came back negative. I was pretty surprised! I've been totally Gluten Free for a week so far and have felt pretty good up until yesterday and today!:( I totally think I have a Gluten intolorance!! All my syptoms are simlar to the celiac. I still have some symptoms. Its frusterating! I know that I'm on the way to getting better, but really wish everything will be 100% better now. Its crazy what gluten can do to your body! If only I knew this a long time ago. It's going to take some time! Reading everyones blogs helps, I'm not alone!

The blood test for gluten is just a screening, it's not definitive. The only way to know for sure is to have an endoscopy and get several biopsies and have them tested. My daughter's blood test was negative for celiac but the biopsies were positive. Check with a gastroenterologist. Good luck.
