Learning About Blogs

Mosaics

Hi everybody. I'm just learning about blogs and trying to figure it all out. It's funny because my husband and I were talking about blogging last night and he asked me if I'd like for him to set up a blog for me (he's a computer genius  ), but I said, "What would I have to talk about?" Then, lo and behold, this morning I got a message from celiac.com telling me that they have a new blog feature. It must be a sign that I need a blog. :D

I guess I'm a geek for replying to myself, but I'm doing it to see what my page looks like and if it's long and narrow, I'd like to find out how to widen the page.

I'm new to blogging, too. But I did find out how to widen the page. Go to your controls. At the top of the left hand column is different settings for your blog and an About Me page, etc. In one of those settings, they let you set how many pixels wide you want your blog to be. (between 150 and 350). I set mine at 350, so you can take a look at Jonesy's blog and see if you want yours that wide. I'll probably change it to 300.

Also, I've noticed that many bloggers write in one long paragraph. But you can add all the paragraphs you think are appropriate for the subject.

I'm glad you took the plunge and I think your story is interesting.
Keep up the good work. :)

Thanks Jonesy, I'll have a look at that.
