Hemorrhoids
Yep, that's what I'm talking about today. No! I don't have 'em!We have a long time friend that has celiac disease...was diagnosed over 10 yrs. ago after a mental breakdown. I think I wrote about him in one of my earlier entries. Anyway, he has been having trouble with his prostate, thought it was just the regular old man's problem (he's 70 something). Well, it turns out it's not his prostate after all. It's a great big hemorrhoid that is pressing on his prostate.I wanted to post this so that celiac disease sufferers will be aware that this is celiac related. My suffering friend has not been using the sense that God gave him and has been cheating on his gluten-free diet...a lot. I'm sure that's why he's having this problem.See, my oldest brother has a hemorrhoid (I think I wrote about this earlier, too) that he suffered terribly from. The doctors wanted to operate and kept telling him "eat more fiber, eat more fiber" which translated into "eat more wheat". When I informed my family that celiac disease runs in the family and my brother went gluten-free, his problem went away...the pain and discomfort, not the hemorrhoid. Now, I don't know what doctors say about any connection between hemorrhoids and celiac disease...probably don't believe any connection exists, but I know what I see. celiac disease can cause chronic constipation which can cause hemorrhoids. I don't know why, but eating gluten makes my brother's (still existing) hemorrhoid hurt terribly.Moral of the story...if you have a painful hemorrhoid, it may be caused by celiac disease. STOP EATING GLUTEN. Those of you who cheat...STOP CHEATING.
