More Gluten Sensitive Than Ever
This is quite upsetting. The longer I'm on the gluten-free diet, the more sensitive I'm getting. Is it because my system is no longer accustomed to compensating for the gluten influx, or is it just the progression of the disease? I guess I'll never know since I discovered my celiac disease before I suffered many symptoms.

Within the past several months I've noticed that when I get glutened my stomache starts to rumble shortly after I've eaten and then it's off to the toilet for me. I've gotten to where I'm a little afraid of eating something that I haven't prepared myself because it might be contaminated.
My husband and I went to a party at an attorney's ranch this past Saturday and it lasted all afternoon. They had all kinds of food, all day long. I was thinking, "What if I get gluten and have to spend the afternoon in the outhouse?" To be honest, it was the nicest outhouse I ever saw - a Kohler portable ladies room with three stalls, vessel sinks, lovely faucets, ambient lighting and air-conditioning - but I didn't want to spend the rest of the day there despite that.
I was very careful, asked the servers at the buffet to check the flour content of various things for me. Thankfully, there were several things that were gluten-free. I was disappointed that all four desserts were laden with gluten - two kinds of bread pudding and two kinds of cobbler. Oh, I used to love bread pudding! I found some yummy truffles at the coffee bar that satisfied my sweet tooth, though.
The day went great and there were no gluten episodes. It really irritates me that I have to worry about that now, though.
