Another Day At The Office

The diarrhoea is back. It had gone for nearly two weeks, after being nearly a daily occurrence for a month. I know where it came from, but I was so hungry a couple of nights back, I just had to have fries! I had been to a meeting, everyone at home was hungry, it was late and I just had to eat! Within an hour, I knew I had done it. I will have to make sure that I have a little snack in the afternoon, just so I don’t get that horrible hunger. Being winter it will be a battle.
Well today was great. It was teacher support day, so it was my day along with about 10 other support staff, and the boss bought us morning tea. Maureen had to remind him to get the Banana cake for her, and the fruit, crackers and cheese for me. The boss didn’t do too well, he bought rice crackers with chicken flavour and msg in them, along with a hummus, but I did not want to try either. But he did get the banana cake. I did well though with the fruit. I did not feel deprived, if anything I wasn’t hungry, maybe because of this mornings visit to the loo. But I was not too worried about not eating treats. Maybe I am getting past the woe is me part. If anything Maureen and the boss handled it worse, worrying that there wouldn’t be anything for me to eat but I always have my stash somewhere at work hiding. But then again half an hour later I wasn’t too hot. Feeling better now. Could it have been the melon? Nah! Maybe I should never be anywhere near cream cakes, even not cutting them up like I did. Does gluten jump?
The thing that gets me now, is that everybody comments on how healthy I am now eating, and how wonderful I look, I sort of feel guilty that the weight is not falling off, or is it I am discouraged?
I have true friends at work. One of the lovely teachers asked her class of 9 year olds, who they thought in the staff were old, or young. Most of us got old, even me, but the surprise was that the oldest teacher they actually could not decide if she was old or young. She must have eternal youth on her side.
Apart from that, the day was warmer than yesterday. Maureen got me up at 5.30 for our walk, in the dark and freezing cold. (Jim walked Poppy on his own) It could’ve been worse, but there was ice on top of the car roof. Ice is about as cold as it gets here! That was our first walk in a few weeks as Maureen has been laid up with the flu. It was hard, I felt every muscle in my legs later on, and the blister on my small toe.
Well tea is nearly ready, which reminds me I tried making a curry sauce with a bit of curry, mad with curry, cornflour and milk, to put with some left over veges for my lunch, and it actually tasted nice. The only problem was the queue at the one lonely underpowered microwave in the staffroom. And while on food, I had to buy the boys the new mellow puffs, so that I could smell what they were like. Not too bad, but I could only smell the banana flavour, which smelt false. So maybe I am not missing them.
