Big Haul
OH YEAH. Thought I'd been saving $$ by eating stuff tucked away in my cupboards and pushing back my biweekly trip to the health food store, BUT, instead, my bill doubled. $190. haha
Celiac.com Sponsor (A13):
I do stock up, but WOW.
Got favs like Mrs. Leeper's Beef Stroganoff box mix, Amy's potato leek soup, Barbara's Corn Flakes, my EnerG frozen pizza shells, and Glutino lemon wafer cookies. And a Namaste cake mix or 4.
Got NEW items (new to me) like gluten free dark bread mix (pumpernickel was a fav in my "normal" days), blondie brownie mix, choc. pudding, chicken salad, and buckwheat flake cereal and weird looking crackers that a woman recommended. She said if you microwave two with cheese in between it tastes as good as an old fashioned grilled cheese. we'll see about that.
I have a thing about high expectations. I don't like to be disappointed, so I'd rather set the bar medium and be pleasantly surprised or impressed.
But not with my students, of course. I set the bar high and sometimes am impressed and often find myself reteaching things that are deficits during recess or silent reading time.
Another belief.
I don't believe in giving advice unless asked.
Hence the blog.
Neither giving nor seeking advice. It just is what it is and hopefully it shows that nobody is perfect and that adapting to celiac is a PROCESS. Maybe some chuckles or eyerolling as side effects. sounds. just. fine.
