Pancake Balls
One of our favorite restaurants is the local Indian Restaurant. We've been going there for many years and for most of those years I've been eating their "pancake balls". Well, that's not really what they're called. I don't know the real indian name, but they are like balls of pancake with a honey syrup, served warm. They aren't wonderful...mostly because they aren't chocolate , but it's nice to end the meal with a little sweet.

When I was diagnosed with celiac disease, I gave up the wonderful nan and roti breads and the pancake balls because of the wheat flour. So, a couple of weeks ago we were talking to the owner's son and the pancake ball ingredients came up. He said there was no wheat flour in them. I asked him to double check with the cook. Sure enough, they use some other kind of flour to make them! All this time, I've been passing on the pancake balls.
Today, I decided to test the waters and have myself a pancake ball at the end of lunch. I told my family, "Well, we'll know if he was right about the flour in about an hour." I've been fine all day.
No gluten in the pancake balls.
Rock on.
