Peanut Butter?

mis-chiff

I need someone to clear this up for me once and for all!

Celiac.com Sponsor (A13):
Is Kraft peanut butter gluten free or not???

I called them, they told me that it is, then my daughter

calls and tells me it's not!

I re-read the ingredients...what am I missing?

Please help!

Where is your daughter getting her information? I would think that Kraft would know whether or not their PB is gluten-free. I checked their website and they use their PB in recipes that they claim are gluten-free.

That's my point as well, and when I asked her what she meant, she said
on the label it says, Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil and she thought that oil contained gluten
she knows I use non-hydrogenated oil for deep frying. so she was pointing out what was on the label.

I think I'll call them again right now.....

No worries then, Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil does not contain gluten.

Great, thanks Mosaics :)
I called Kraft and she said it would take 7-10 days to get an answer....

I'm glad, cause that's what I use for my peanut butter cookies :)

Well, I have called Skippy twice and they said that the low fat peanut butter is gluten free. I am getting gluten from somewhere and hardly ever eat out. I somehow don't believe them. Pat

Same here pat brown... when i take out kraft peanut butter and heinz ketchup from my diet i feel 100%. with them in my diet i feel knocked down a little more. I know those two things "do not conatin gluten", but i think they have a higher gluten Parts per million than the rest of the stuff in my diet.
