Continuing Gluten Free...one Week Now
Well today being Tuesday, July 26th, I am one week gluten-free for the first time in years. Not seeing any improvement in my sleep yet, but I guess that will take time. Not sure if it is the gluten that is causing me my sleep problems. I had a doctor's appointment yesterday and we are going to try Tryptophan for my sleep. So I am anxious to see if that helps in any way. I read on one of the Celiac sites that our bodies don't absorb the tryptophan from our foods and that could be the cause of my sleep issues. But we will see I guess.Had a real bad day yesterday, was so tired and absolutely no energy. I hate being like this, as I see so many things I would like to do, but can't find the energy to do them. My mind is willing but my body is weak.I need to get out and try to do more walking with my little dog, think that might help with some of my brain fog issues. This brain fog is the worst, it justs drives me up the wall. I am still not sure if it is gluten related or still an after affect of the withdrawal from the benzos. I was on medications for the best part of 20 years for depression and insomnia, and did a w/drawal over a period of a year, and have been drug free for 9 months. I had the brain fog when I was on the drugs as well.I have a hair appointment this afternoon, so must run and get ready to go. I would love to hear from anyone who has trouble with insomnia and the brain fog, I am on yahoo messenger. If your interested in chatting let me know. Thanks all,Deborah
