Newbie - Another One
Hi there everyone.
Celiac.com Sponsor (A13):
As titled, I'm totally new to this and reading more and more entries and starting to feel panicked. I've been trying to go gluten free for two months and have not found much improvement other than that my condition is now manageable - ie: I can go back to work and be with friends. I'm still tired and often cloudy and not sure what sets that off.
I'm now noticing that I should be looking at soaps, shampoos, dish soap and the like? Is this true if we're not ingesting shampoo or body soap? Is there really enough dishsoap left on the dishes to make a difference? What about using the same toaster as my roomate who of course, uses wheat breads?
The worst part of all this is I hate cooking and really have no idea where to start! Is it true we can never really eat out again? What about friend's places and their "old wooden spoons" ? Do i really need to wipe keyboards with alcohol to ensure there's no gluten anywhere from a previous user?
And last, but not least, what about dating? If my boyfriend has just had pasta - can I kiss him?! Do we need to use a condom if he's not gluten free? (don't laugh - I have no idea!) Should I ask him to change his soap?
Please advise... looking for answers and support..
Thank you...
