There Is Light At The End Of The Tunnel

Hi fellow celiacs, Yesterday I read several blogs that just broke my heart. I replied with the knowledge I have learned through the years as being a celiac. I believe knowledge is powerful, but more important knowledge about your health is powerful. When you visit a doctor , take a friend that loves you. Begin a journal and take that with you.Be strong even though you feel bad. I have found out the more you educate yourself, the more respect a doctor will give you. The most important person is you! Not the doctor! If I do not like a doctor , I will not return. I am lucky, I have an excellent primary care physician who cares about my health. That is where I started many years ago. The first time I saw him, he put me in the hospital for dehydration, and chronic diarrhea. I stayed for two weeks. I drank liquids and ate jello. I was also hooked up to machines for feeding as well as monitoring. I knew I had found the best primary care doctor for me. I am having a good day . So for any of you that are hurting and depressed, there is light at the end of the tunnel!Godspeed, Littlebit

I was shocked to learn last Friday that I have Celiac Disease. I went for my yearly checkup and discovered that I was dreadfully anemic. That is the horrible part right now. I feel awful. So dreadfully weak, dizzy, nauseated. So off I went to have a colonoscopy and endoscopy. 2 days later the doctor called with the biopsy report and told me I had Celiac Disease. Any information would be greatly appreciated. It is a tough time as both my parents are and have been in the hospital for 4 weeks and they live an hour away so I am running back and forth. I have been to the store and have been reading labels. It sounds like I will never ever be able to eat at a restaurant. Is that true? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Posting and reading blogs is new to me so I have to learn all about that as well.
