Celiac.com 07/17/2024 - We get a lot of questions from celiac community members wondering which brands and products are gluten-free. One question we see a lot is about pasta.

Specifically, are egg noodles gluten-free and safe for people with celiac disease? The short answer is no. Most egg noodles are made with semolina and durum wheat flour, which are high in wheat gluten, so traditional egg noodles should not be consumed by anyone with celiac disease or a non-celiac gluten intolerance. Here's the rundown.

I like Grapeseed Oil for pan frying.  Hard to burn, significant amounts of vitamin E. One tablespoon provides 3.9 mg of vitamin E.

Has Barilla Pasta Been Ripping Off Customers?
Celiac.com 10/06/2016 - If you've bought pasta in a box, or if you've even strolled your boxed pasta aisle at the supermarket, you've likely come across Barilla, and their famous blue box. Well, it turns out that the world's largest pasta-maker might have been ripping off customers by routinely under filling their boxes. In fact, Barilla is being sued for 'substantially' under-filling boxes and, as a result, cheating customers out of as much as a quarter of their noodles.
Plaintiffs Alessandro Berni, Domenico Salvata, Mossimo Simioli, and Giuseppe Santochirico, have filed a class-action lawsuit alleging that Barilla deceptively packages certain pastas in order to deceive consumers. They claim extra-protein, whole-grain, and gluten-free pastas are placed in the standard-size boxes used...

Top Brands of Gluten-Free Pasta and Tomato Sauce

Lately, we've been getting numerous questions about tomato sauce. Specifically, which brands of pasta and tomato sauce are gluten-free, and safe for people with celiac disease?
The answer is that, unless it contains added wheat or gluten ingredients, most tomato pasta sauces are naturally gluten-free. However, some are not.
Many brands, like Del Monte, do not specifically label their tomato sauce as gluten-free, even though they contain no gluten-ingredients. That's not necessarily a big deal, but some people like to play it safe.
These brands of tomato sauce are either labeled "Gluten-Free," or use no gluten ingredients and n...
