Celiac.com 04/29/2021 - We get a lot of questions from celiac community members wondering if certain products are gluten-free. We recently answered a question about Chobani yogurt, which offers numerous gluten-free options

But that answer has brought other questions about what other yogurt brands are gluten-free? Since yogurt is just milk cultured with friendly bacteria. Since milk is naturally gluten-free, and the yogurt cultures are gluten-free, most yogurt, including Chobani, will be naturally gluten-free.

Homemade Yogurt Resolves Irritable Bowel Symptoms in Most Patients
Celiac.com 01/24/2018 - Irritable bowel syndrome can be a frustrating condition for both patients and doctors. It can be difficult to diagnose, and the symptoms can be unpleasant, to say the least. For many people with IBS, medication does not adequately treat the symptoms. Many people just suffer and live with the IBS and its symptoms.
Now, a new study may bring some hope to people with IBS. The study was conducted by Manju Girish Chandran, and colleagues from the Mary Breckinridge ARH Hospital in Hyden, Kentucky. For the study, 189 patients consumed 2 to 3 cups of homemade yogurt every day and recorded their symptoms. Their responses were assessed every 2 months for 6 months.
At the end of the study, 169 patients saw their IBS go into remission within 6 months. And these weren't...

Can Probiotics Help Prevent Celiac Disease and IBD in Pediatrics?
Celiac.com 12/28/2018 - Beyond a few teaser studies, we don’t know enough about whether the individual micro-biome might play a role in the development of celiac disease and inflammatory bowel disease.
Top celiac researcher Alessio Fasano, together with colleague G. Serena, recently presented an overview of current knowledge regarding the contribution of the individual micro-biome to celiac disease and inflammatory bowel disease. Their discussion includes a particular focus on how probiotics may be used as potential preventive therapy for CIDs.
They are both affiliated with the Mucosal Immunology and Biology Research Center and Division of Pediatric Gastroenterology and Nutrition, Massachusetts General Hospital for Children - Harvard Medical School, Boston, MA, USA.

Probiotics May Reduce GI Symptoms in Celiac Disease Patients
Celiac.com 11/02/2020 - Many people with celiac disease experience persistent symptoms despite adhering to the gluten-free diet. Different studies have assessed the use of probiotics as an adjuvant treatment for celiac disease.
A team of researchers recently set out to to evaluate the efficacy of probiotics in improving gastrointestinal (GI) symptoms and quality of life (QOL) in patients with celiac disease, and used EMBASE, MEDLINE, CINAHL, Web of Science, CENTRAL, and DARE databases to search for randomized controlled trials (RCTs) evaluating probiotics compared with placebo for treating celiac disease, before February 2019.
The researchers collected data on GI symptoms, QOL, adverse events, serum tumor necrosis factor-α, intestinal permeability, and microbiota composition. Af...

    Is Chobani Yogurt Gluten-Free?
Celiac.com 04/17/2021 - We get a lot of questions here about what products may contain gluten. One question we've seen a lot recently is about yogurt. Specifically, is Chobani yogurt gluten-free and safe for people with celiac disease?
Since yogurt is just cultured milk, and since milk is naturally gluten-free, and the yogurt cultures are gluten-free, most yogurt, including Chobani, will be gluten-free. So, any yogurt that has not had gluten added to it is very likely naturally gluten-free, whether or not it is labeled and certified.
The good news is that, with a couple of exceptions, nearly all formulations and flavors of Chobani yogurt are labeled gluten-free and are certified by the Gluten-Free Certification Organization.
