Does Costco Sell Spiral Hams that are Gluten-Free?

Reviewed and edited by a celiac disease expert.

Wondering if Costco sells spiral cut hams that are gluten-free? They do. Here's the rundown.

Celiac.com 10/10/2023 - We get a lot of questions from celiac community members wondering if certain products are gluten-free. One question we see a lot is about ham. Specifically, does Costco sell spiral ham that's gluten-free and safe for people with celiac disease?

The answer is yes. Costco's Kirkland Signature Spiral Sliced Ham with Natural Juices is hickory smoked, fully cooked, pre-sliced, and labeled gluten-free, and so it is safe for people with celiac disease. A glance at the Costco website and the label will confirm that.

As long as nothing containing gluten is added to the ham during or after processing, and if this is the case, then the ham will be gluten-free. Which Turkey Brands are Gluten-Free?
Celiac.com 11/18/2020 - We get more than a few questions about holiday turkeys. One question we get a lot this time of year is: Which turkey brands are gluten-free and safe for people with celiac disease? The good news is that, except for gluten added after processing, turkey meat is naturally gluten-free, including turkey fed with wheat or gluten-containing grains.
However, as with so many foods that start out gluten-free, the deeper answer lies in the extras. Unless you add wheat or gluten ingredients afterward, most turkeys and turkey meat is gluten-free. However, many of the commercial turkeys include seasoning packets or gravy packets that may contain wheat or gluten.
These brands of whole turkeys and turkey products are labeled "Gluten Free."
