Celiac.com 12/22/1010 - I have to admit that I haven't had the best luck when preparing gluten-free yeast breads until I had the opportunity to try Homestead Gluten Free Soft'n Hearty Easy Roll Mix. This gluten-free mix was truly easy to prepare and I loved having the flexibility to shape the rolls as desired, and each roll rose beautifully. The smell of fresh-baked bread filled our home and we couldn't wait to give them a try. The rolls came out spongy, moist and, most importantly, they tasted great! It's a good thing they are easy to prepare since I am already receiving requests from my family to make more.

Needing extra protein in your gluten-free diet? Then I would highly suggest trying biPro's gluten-free unflavored whey protein. It is usually hard enough for me to find a gluten free-protein powder, but it is even more difficult to find one that is versatile and doesn't clump. Recently I tried biPro and I decided to just pour some of the protein powder in my cup of chocolate milk and just mixed it up with a spoon. Unless you try this for yourself, you probably won't believe me when I say that the chocolate milk tasted just like chocolate milk and the powder dissolved beautifully.

Celiac.com 10/10/2012 - With so many gluten-free snack bars coming onto the market nowadays, it can be hard to find one that stands out, and really deserves a spot in your snack food reserves. SOYJOY makes great baked whole soy-based gluten-free bars, and their new cranberry flavor is one of their best yet.
When trying to describe the new cranberry SOYJOY, my first instinct is to compare it to a Nutri-Grain bar, just lighter and with whole dried fruit instead of a jelly filling (and no gluten, of course). I'm not usually a huge cranberry fan, but in this context, the cranberries add a very satisfying tanginess that keeps the bar from being overwhelmingly sweet. The bar also has a pleasant texture: it's both light (not overly heavy or chewy like some snack bars) and slightly moist...

There are countless 'health' food snack bars and protein bars on the market, many of which aren't as healthy as their makers would have you think. On the other side of the spectrum, you have snack bars that are loaded with various superfoods and are really quite nutritious, but taste like cardboard. The Peanut Butter Honey GoodOnYa bar is what I would call a perfect middle ground – it is rich and flavorful, but filled with highly nutritious organic ingredients. Even better, it's not only gluten-free, but completely soy-free, dairy-free and grain-free as well.
When I need a quick snack on the go, I usually go for fruit and a container of yogurt, which I feel is enough of an indulgence. After trying this peanut butter GoodOnYa bar though, I am seriously considering adding it to my morning r...

Celiac.com 10/17/2013 - I tried DNA Life Bars' Chocolate Coconut Fudge gluten-free bar and found it to have a nice chocolate flavor, with a hint of coconut, and almost the same consistency as fudge.
The best part about DNA Life Bars is how nutritious their bars are. They contain 14 grams of protein and 5.5 grams of fiber, yet contain only 26 grams of carbs and an ultra-low 2 grams of sugar! Besides being gluten-free they are also dairy, soy, corn and trans-fat free as well. To me this bar seemed more like a healthy meal substitute, rather than just a bar.

Enegy level extremely low
Hello Scott, I did lose weight at the beginning of diagnosis and I know that it will take time to put on the weight I did lose. I think I have no appetite because this has been a roller coaster of emotions and a Big change on my body and its out of whack mentally and pysically. I think I am just depressed to be honest. -

How long can symptoms take to appear?
It's easy to forget that it's not only the concentration of gluten in a given food item that's significant but also the total amount of gluten we consume over a period of time. This thing and that thing may meet the gluten-free requirement of not exceeding 20 ppm but if we eat enough of those things in a reasonably short amount of time it can have a cumulative... -

How long can symptoms take to appear?
Hi! I try to steer clear of dairy and I cut out oats at the same time I did gluten products. It may be that something I had recently that was labeled as gluten-free contained oats. I am just so confused as to why I didn’t react when I know I ate wheat flour (breaded fries) but then reacted to something else 9 days later. Maybe you’re right and that it was... -

How long can symptoms take to appear?
Welcome to the forum, @SamClaire! I am reasonably sure that after 9 days any danger of a single gluten exposure reaction would have been long gone. If in fact the reaction you are speaking of is due to gluten, it is more likely a cumulative effect of small amounts of gluten having crept into your diet over time. Perhaps some food product you have been... -

How long can symptoms take to appear?
Hi, I’m brand new to this website but I was diagnosed 14 years ago. I am just now getting over a particularly bad flare up that lasted a full 7 days. I’ve been trying to figure out what caused it and all I can think of is I know I accidentally ate gluten (specifically wheat flour) 9 days before my symptoms started. Could it have taken 9 days for my ...
