Celiac.com 11/23/2022 - We get a lot of questions about which products are gluten-free. We've done more than a few articles on this topic of gluten-free barbecue sauce brands.

Still the questions about barbecue sauce keep coming.

    Celiac.com Sponsor (A12):
Is BBQ sauce gluten-free and safe for people with celiac disease? The short answer is most store bought brands of commercial barbecue sauce are not gluten-free. But some are. It depends on the brand.

Many barbecue sauces use gluten or other gluten ingredients as a thickener or coloring agent. The means wheat or gluten, so it’s important to always check labels, and be extra careful of anything you’re not sure about.

We've compiled a list of twelve top brands of gluten-free barbecue sauce, which includes over fifty different barbecue sauces to rock your gluten-free world.

    Gluten-Free Barbecue Sauces:

    • Ford's Gourmet Foods
    • Bone Suckin' Sauce
    • Guy Fieri
    • Iron Chef
    • Jack Daniels BBQ Sauces
    • Organicville
    • Rib Rack All Natural BBQ
    • San-J International
    • Gluten Free Asian Bbq Sauce
    • Schultzs Gourmet
    • Sky Valley Organic
    • Stubb's Legendary Bar-B-Q
    • Sweet Baby Ray's Gourmet Sauces

Also, a number of manufacturers make sauces with no gluten ingredients, and which have no wheat or gluten allergens posted, but which are not labeled gluten-free. If this prospect concerns you, go with those in the list above.

Barbeque Sauces Made with No Gluten Ingredients:

    • Bull's-Eye BBQ Sauce
    • Hunt's BBQ Sauce
    • KC Masterpiece
    • Kraft Barbecue Sauce
    • Lillie's Q Hot Smoky BBQ Sauce
    • Trader Joe's

As always, read labels carefully, and avoid all gluten ingredients.
