Celiac.com 11/01/2023 -  We get a lot of questions from celiac community members wondering if certain products are gluten-free. One question we see a lot is about beverages. Specifically, which brands of flavored sparkling water are gluten-free and safe for people with celiac disease? The short answer is that most, if not all, flavored sparkling water will be naturally gluten-free, unless some gluten ingredient is added during processing.

Natural and flavored sparkling and seltzer waters are a popular category of beverages, and there are literally dozens of brands to the market. When we talk about these products, we mostly mean sparkling water, with or without natural or artificial flavors, usually with little or no sugar, or sweeteners, and with no alcohol.

    Celiac.com Sponsor (A12):
The short answer to this question is that it depends on the specific brand of flavored sparkling water. While most all sparkling water is naturally gluten-free, some brands may contain gluten ingredients.

Look for brands that are labeled gluten-free, or contain real fruit flavors, and no gluten ingredients. Check labels for gluten ingredients, and allergens, and choose carefully.
