Celiac.com 12/08/2022 - We recently did an article on Hidden Valley Ranch dressing, and on brands of gluten-free ranch dressing.

Still, we get a lot of questions ranch dressing. In this case:

Is Hidden Valley Ranch dressing mix gluten-free and safe for people with celiac disease?

    Celiac.com Sponsor (A12):
The short answer is yes, both Hidden Valley Original Ranch Dressing, and the powdered Hidden Valley Original Ranch Dressing Mixes, are labeled gluten-free and safe for people with celiac disease. Milk and soy are the only allergens listed.

From the Hidden Valley Ranch company website:

    • "It’s gluten-free, keto-friendly, and packed with all the real ranch flavor you first fell in love with."

As always, check all labels carefully and avoid any gluten ingredients.

I had some Kraft Poppy Seed dressing on my salad one night this week and woke up the next morning with that lethargic feeling which I get as the first symptom of ingesting a small amount of gluten. We had baked cod and a baked potato that night, nothing else. So is Kraft Poppy Seed dressing gluten free I wonder?

First ingredient  on some Hidden Vally Ranch mix is 'maltodextrin'. It does not indicate if from corn or wheat, so not considered safe for gluten  intolerance.

Yes, as far as I know it's always made from corn, and there are only a few big companies that make it.

The following two lists are very helpful for anyone who is gluten sensitive and needs to avoid gluten when shopping.

It's very important to learn to read labels and understand sources of hidden gluten, and to know some general information about product labelling--for example in the USA if wheat is a possible allergen it must be declared on a product's ingredient label like this: Allergens: Wheat.

I am very careful as to reading ingredients and did not see any questionable ones in Hidden Valley ranch dressing. I have an explosive bowel problem if I ingest gluten. I've been using Hidden Ranch dressing for some time with no adverse reactions.

I have an explosive bowel as well. I used Hidden Valley ranch for a long time with no problem. Whomever reported that it isn't gluten free is totally wrong.
