Celiac.com 03/16/2022 - We get a lot of questions from celiac community members wondering if certain brands and products are gluten-free. One question we see a lot is about Mary Kay face wash products.

Specifically, is Mary Kay face wash gluten-free and safe for people with celiac disease? The short answer is NO. Here's the lowdown.

    Celiac.com Sponsor (A12):
It's important for people with celiac disease to avoid gluten, not only in their diets, but in their beauty products, including face washes and cleansers. Here's what we know about Mary Kay face wash.

A search of the Mary Kay website shows eight product entries for facial wash. However, a search turns up no items listed as gluten-free. It seems that Mary Kay does not specifically label any of their facial washes as gluten-free.

For this reason, we do not consider Mary Kay facial wash to be gluten-free or safe for people with celiac disease. If you know and trust this brand and its ingredients, by all means follow your choice. As always, read labels, avoid gluten ingredients, and choose carefully.

EpiLynx is a company that is dedicated to gluten-free cosmetics, and they do have a gluten-free face wash: EpiLynx by Dr. Liia Oil and Gluten-Free Apple Face Wash.

Did You Know? Gluten in Cosmetics, Lotions and Makeup
Celiac.com 12/20/2019 - A recent site reminded me again to check my cosmetic drawer, or as my husband calls it, “my chemistry set". Have you researched your make-up ingredients for the possibility that some of those creams, powders, oils or gels contain gluten? I did this briefly about ten years ago, but I was lax with it because the ingredient lists were so small in size, in another language, or had some "weird" ingredients that I could not even pronounce, let alone find out if they contained gluten. Now we have the Gluten Free RN Web Site, and the author is working hard to separate the cosmetics into two separate areas “Safe for the Celiac,” and an area that covers products to avoid.
The Gluten Free RN answers a simple "Yes" to the query about whether these cosmetic products should be...
