    Is Ranch Dressing Gluten-Free?

    Wondering if ranch dressing if gluten-free and safe or people with celiac disease? Some brands are, some are not. Here's a rundown and a list of brands of gluten-free ranch dressing, including Hidden Valley Original.

    Celiac.com 09/20/2022 - We get a lot of questions about which products and brands are gluten-free. We especially get a lot of questions about salad dressings and condiments. In this case, is ranch dressing gluten-free and safe for people with celiac disease?

    When many folks talk about ranch dressing, they are talking about the original ranch dressing, Hidden Valley Original Ranch Dressing.

    The short answer is yes, Hidden Valley Original Ranch Dressing is labeled gluten-free and safe for people with celiac disease. Dairy is the only allergen listed.

    Brands of Ranch Dressing that are Labeled Gluten-Free, or Made Without Gluten Ingredients:

    As always, be sure to carefully read ingredient labels and avoid wheat or gluten ingredients, as ingredients can change at any time.

    Brianna's
    Nearly all of Brianna's salad dressings, including Brianna's Ranch are considered gluten-free.

    Cardini's 
    Most Cardini's dressings are considered gluten-free, including Cardini's Parmesan Ranch Dressing. 

    Girard's 
    Girard's makes a dozen or so premium salad dressings, most of which are considered gluten-free, including:

    • Girard's Ranch Dressing
    • Buttermilk Farm Ranch Style Dressing
    • Chipotle Salsa Ranch Dressing & Dip
    • Original Ranch Dressing

    Hidden Valley 
    Hidden Valley Original Ranch Dressing is labeled gluten-free and safe for people with celiac disease. Dairy is the only allergen listed.

    Ken's Steakhouse
    Ken's Foods Ranch Dressing is labeled gluten-free.

    Kraft
    Kraft does not test its salad dressings for gluten, nor does it label them gluten-free, but the company will disclose any gluten ingredients clearly on its labels. 

    Marzetti's
    Marzetti's Classic Ranch dressing is made without gluten ingredients. Egg and milk are the only listed allergens. These are on their gluten-free list:

    • Aged Parmesan Ranch
    • Classic Ranch
    • "Light" Ranch
    • "Light" Classic Ranch
    • Organic Parmesan Ranch

    Newman's Own
    Most Newman's Own salad dressings, including Newman's Own Ranch, are made without gluten ingredients, according to the company's FAQ page.

    Organicville
    Organicville Non-Dairy Ranch Dressing is certified gluten-free by the Gluten-Free Certification Organization (GFCO). 

    Wish-Bone
    Wish-Bone is made by Unilever Inc. Wish-Bone is made without gluten ingredients, and lists no wheat or gluten allergens. Parent company Unilever does not publish a gluten-free product list, nor does it test for gluten, but the company does disclose any gluten-containing ingredients on its labels.

    Is Cream Cheese Gluten-Free and Safe for People with Celiac Disease?
    Celiac.com 12/16/2020 - We get more than a few questions about cream cheese. Specifically, is cream cheese gluten-free, and safe for people with celiac disease? Yes, most all cream cheese is gluten-free. 
    With few exceptions, cheeses are made with milk, cultures, and often some kind of rennet to make them form into solid cheese. Most cheeses are gluten-free and safe for people with celiac disease, and they appear on celiac.com's list of safe foods and ingredients. That includes most moldy cheeses like Blue, Gorgonzola, Roquefort, and, yes, cream cheese.
