I contacted the Heinz company and their sauce has soy sauce in it. It is NOT gluten free.

Not all soy sauce contains wheat. La Choy brand does not. Hellodee, I assume that you clarified with Heinz that they use a soy sauce recipe that does contain wheat.

My understanding is that in Asian culture there are basically two traditional formulations for soy sauce. One contains wheat and the other does not. Most of what we see in western countries contains wheat.

Not all soy sauces contain wheat, and the one used in Heintz Worcestershire sauce does not include wheat, and per our article, does not contain any gluten. Here are the ingredients:

I have a recipe that includes1 tsp of Worcestershire sauce…..it serves at least 6 people…..would 1 serving of that do harm to a person with celiac disease?

I will assume you are in a country where malt vinegar may be used, so technically no, even though the gluten content in the end product would be very low.

Can confirm that it contains gluten here in Australia .  for Australian Use Spring Gully found in Woolworths
