Glutenfreeda On the Road: Greenbrier, West Virginia May 27th-29th, 2005

TRAVELING AND DINING OUT ON THE GLUTEN-FREE DIET LECTURE by Melinda Dennis,

MS, RD, LDN,

After a diagnosis of celiac disease, you may ask yourself if you are ever

going to eat out or travel again. The answer is "yes!" And what better

location to discuss this topic than our beautiful weekend setting. We will

practice how to pick the "safest" dining locations anywhere in the world,

and how to prepare ahead for travel by plane, car, cruise line, etc. We will

use real menus and role-plays to mimic dining out experiences. Listings of

portable gluten-free foods and resources for celiac-friendly vacation

packages will be provided.

*Please bring your questions and positive and negative dining experiences.

Melinda Dennis, MS, RD, LDN, was diagnosed with celiac disease 14 years ago,

is a registered dietitian who sees patients with celiac disease and other

gastrointestinal disorders at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in

Boston. She is Nutrition Coordinator of the hospital's newly established

Celiac Center, and the founder and former chairperson and Nutrition Advisor

to the Healthy Villi Greater Boston Celiac/DH Support Group.

Reserve your space today for this rare, gluten-free experience at The

Greenbrier resort.

CSA/USA Chapter #100 and Glutenfreeda.com invites you and your family to

participate in an incredible gluten-free weekend that many of us only dream

of. A luxurious weekend complete with spectacular gluten-free fine dining,

two gluten-free cooking classes taught by the chefs from Glutenfreeda.com

and all the amenities* of the exquisite Greenbrier resort in West Virginia.

This is an amazing opportunity in an extraordinary location! The historic

Greenbrier offers world famous golf, tennis, swimming, a world-class spa,

falconry, fishing, horseback riding, a culinary arts center and much, much

more.

Check in on Friday and relax and enjoy a cocktail and gluten-free appetizers at an

evening reception hosted by the CSA/USA Chapter 100 in the Slammin' Sammy's.

Saturday morning take a walk through the breath-taking grounds or sign up

for one of the many exciting activities offered by The Greenbrier. For

lunch, Glutenfreeda.com will offer a fun and informative cooking class.

Enjoy a delicious, gourmet gluten-free lunch in amazing surroundings! After

Melinda's lecture we'll all take a break and relax at an afternoon tea with

gluten-free scones and a live concert, a Greenbrier tradition that dates back to the

1930's. Saturday evening the chefs at The Greenbrier will offer several menu

items completely gluten-free for our guests. Sunday morning enjoy a

breakfast cooking course complete with Blackberry Cream Cheese Crepes,

gluten-free muffins and other treasured gluten-free breakfast foods. Check

out, on Sunday, is at noon, but you are invited to check your bags through

the bellstand and participate in another Greenbrier activity like a

horse-drawn carriage ride through the grounds or get in a round of golf.

This is an experience you and your family will certainly remember and

treasure for a lifetime!
