The San Antonio Celiac Support Group invites you to brunch.
When: Saturday, 7 May, at 10 am
Where: Covenant Presbyterian Church, 211 Roleto Drive, Kitchen area (directions below)
Anne Barfield, our chair, extends the following invitation:
"We are planning a special Mother's Day Brunch for our May meeting, which will be held Saturday, May 7 at 10:00 am at our usual place, Covenant Presbyterian Church, 211 Roleto, in the kitchen area. It is time to give me a call or e-mail and RSVP. We need to know how many family members will attend with you, and what you will be bringing to share. Please call by Friday noon.
Some suggestions are egg dishes that travel well, waffle mix and your waffle iron, (along with whatever goes with the waffles), toast, biscuits, fruit, yogurt, bacon, gluten-free sausage, or ham, juices or milk. There is a coffee pot there and we will have it brewing. Some choices of muffins, coffeecakes or breads sound good too. We will have use of the stove top and ovens to warm things if necessary.
Bring Mom over for a gluten free breakfast and enjoy visiting with your fellow members. All members and interested visitors are welcome.
We will have some copies of the new cookbook that Debbie Holladay and I have been working on for more than a year. It includes many of the recipes that have been printed in the newsletters over the past ten years. Just think! This should make an ideal Mother's Day gift for someone, even if it is for yourself.
There are two forms available. There will be some of each at the meeting for you to choose from. Both sets are indexed by categories. One style has been designed to be put into a loose leaf binder where you can add other recipes as you go along. The other style has a bound coil holding it together. This is to be used as a book. You will not be able to add pages to it in the future.
The set of punched pages sells for $5.00. The set with the coil binding sells for $6.50.
These both will be available later by mail, but you will also have to pay the shipping rate. That is not yet determined. If you know which style you prefer, please tell me when you RSVP for the brunch and I will be sure to have enough for everyone.
I hope you will join us."
If the recipe for your dish is either original or has been changed at least 3 times, please bring an extra copy, with your name on it, and give it to Lynn Rainwater. We can publish these recipes in the Recipes section of our monthly newsletter.
Directions. Freeway exits are now open for NW Military from the West. Going east, you can exit at NW Military, go over 410 and then proceed to the light at Lemonwood. There you can turn left and go that back way, or else get on the 410 access road and go around to Roleto.
If you are coming from the East, headed west, there is a Honeysuckle exit, which will require you to make a very quick right turn on Roleto. (Or turn right on Honeysuckle and continue to turn right to get to Roleto.)
If you are not yet a member of Alamo Celiac, we invite you to visit our Web site, www.alamoceliac.org, and click on the Join button.
