Would you or your gluten-sensitive/celiac patrons enjoy the fun of summer camp in one of the most naturally beautiful areas of the country… a camp that can be attended by an entire family… and a camp serving gluten-free, healthy organic food?

Well if the answer is “YES”, then I have some very exciting news that I hope you will share with your support group! I have just confirmed plans with the Director of Camp Shaver, a YMCA camp in Jemez Springs New Mexico (www.campshaver.org, www.jemezsprings.org), to hold a 4 day-4 night Gluten-Free “Get on a Mission of Nutrition” Family camp July 2-6, 2006. This is the area of New Mexico in which my future Red Rock Canyons Health Retreat is located. I served at Camp Shaver for 3 weeks last summer as their medical attendant, and introduced my “Get on a Mission of Nutrition” health educational music to the children. My 10 year-old daughter attended the camp as well. We both loved it!

This Family Camp program is another way of showing the gluten-sensitive community my appreciation of their support and patronage of my professional services. As space is limited to only 50 people, and we expect this to fill up fast, please act now to secure your spot by calling us at 972-686-6869. An online registration form will be available at www.campshaver.org and at www.intestinalhealth.org/Camp in the next 1-2 weeks.

This 4 day Family camp invites parents and children to experience all of the fun, outdoor recreation, arts and crafts, and natural beauty this highly successful historic camp and beautiful area of New Mexico have to offer. In addition, round table discussions about health and nutrition with me, as well as musical entertainment for you and your children featuring the “Get on a Mission of Nutrition” program will be enjoyed, among other activities. (Please see www.GetOnAMissionOfNutrition.org for more information about the “GOAMON” program. The GOAMON music celiac disease may now be purchased from www.KennyDavinFine.com)

Children of any age are invited to the camp, although those 5 or younger will require parental supervision at activities. The staffed activities provided by the camp include archery, sports, a climbing wall and high ropes course, arts and crafts, hiking, swimming in a nearby warm springs (if the forest remains open), swimming and fishing in the beautiful Jemez River on site, camp fires and much more.

Housing at the camp is in cabins, that hold up to 8 people. Restroom and shower facilities are centrally located, adjacent to the cabins.

All food served will be healthful and organically grown, and catered to our food sensitive needs, especially gluten-free, with dairy-free, yeast-free, soy-free options. Some gluten-free grain products will be served at this camp, along with the staples: organic fruit, vegetables, nuts, and healthy meat. 12 meals plus snacks will be served over these 4 days.

The camp will cost $199 for children aged 5-12 and $249 for adults and children over the age of 12. Children 4 and under may attend for FREE!

There usually is a 4th of July fireworks celebration in the nearby village of Jemez Springs if you desire to drive the 5-6 miles to see that on July 4th. For those that want to visit nearby tourist attractions after the camp is completed, like the Grand Canyon, Mesa Verde National Park, The Valles Caldera, Chaco Canyon, Santa Fe, Taos, nearby Indian Reservations, or any others, I would be happy to help you with information on planning these nearby road trips. Mineral hot springs are also located throughout the Jemez area, both commercial venues in town, and those approached via a short forest hike or drive.

This camp is the first of what I hope will be a national program within YMCA and other camps, to help educate our children about the importance of health and nutrition, as well as positive values and life choices. The program will also be featured in schools, pediatrician’s offices, libraries, and other places frequented by kids. The “Get On A Mission of Nutrition” celiac disease, and all of my others, are now available for purchase from my music website www.KennyDavinFine.com, or by calling 972-686-6869.

As always, I would like to thank you for your ongoing support, and I am honored to have the opportunity to continue to serve the Health, Happiness, and Hope of you and your precious family!

Hope to see you in New Mexico! (If not, have a wonderful summer and we will hopefully see you soon.)

Very truly yours,

Dr. Kenneth Fine
