TRIATHLON FUNDRAISER
We are delighted that Dr. Mimi Winsberg has approached
us to raise funds for the Celiac Sprue Research Foundation
by participating in the Ironman Coeur D’Alene triathlon on
June 25.
Dr. Winsberg is competing to raise awareness of celiac
disease and raise funds for celiac research. Donations can
be made online at www.triglutenfree.com or mailed directly
to Celiac Sprue Research Foundation, PO Box 61193,
Palo Alto, CA 94306. Donations must be received by 2PM
on June 24 to count towards the Challenge and the Janus
Fund will award up to $10,000 to the charity that raises the
most money.
PERSONAL NOTE FROM DR. MIMI WINSBERG...
I am a physician who was diagnosed with celiac disease in
August 2004 while training for triathlons. At the time, I was
so anemic and fatigued, it was difficult to run even one mile.
Now I am confident taking on my first Ironman distance
triathlon.
On June 25 I will swim 2.4 miles, bike 112 miles, and run
26.2 miles all in one race, all in one day. I am doing this
to raise funds and awareness for celiac disease. Through
the Janus Charity Challenge, I hope to raise $10,000 for
the Stanford Celiac Sprue Research Foundation. Janus
will donate up to an additional $10,000 depending on how
much I raise.
I am currently training several hours a day, so that I can
accomplish my goal on June 25. Any donation will help.
One way to sponsor me is by mile ($1 per mile is $146),
but any amount is greatly appreciated.
If you would like to contact me for more details, you can
email me at mwinsberg@sbcglobal.net, and you can visit
my website at www.triglutenfree.com
I thank you in advance for your support of my endeavor.
