Chicago, Illinois Celiac Support Group Meetings - ongoing.
Location: Great Taste Cafe at 355 E. Grand Avenue
Dates: June 15, July 20, August 17 (The third Tuesday of every month)
Time: 6pm
Other: I've been told there is inexpensive parking, accessible by public
transportation, and the cafe closes at 6, so if you show up a little early,
you can get some gluten free snacks or dinner before the meeting!
Who: This group is being supported by the "Gluten Intolerance Group". As the
motivator for the creation, I can serve as a contact for any questions, and
if I can't answer them I can direct them to someone who can!

Why: As a newly diagnosed student in the city, I've come to realize there
are *no* nationally recognized gluten free support groups actually located
in or around the loop/downtown area! This was really frustrating to me and I
bet there were others out there with the same burning question... Where can
I find others to help me with this crazy disease or intolerance? The purpose
is to come together, share stories, ideas, recipes, current
news, frustrations, surprises, and anything else one could bring to the
table. This first meeting on JUNE 15 is to gather and figure out what we
want this group to be about and if the dates/times work for everyone.
Please let any or all of your gluten-free friends in the city know there's now a
place for them too! Even if they aren't seeking answers themselves, there
are a lot of younger people getting diagnosed as the years progress, and I'm
sure any help and/or advice would be very much appreciated!

I'm very excited to let you know about our newest chapter of the Gluten
Intolerance Group. The *Chicago Chapter of GIG* will host our first meeting
on Wednesday, June 15th at Great Taste Cafe in Chicago.
*What:* * Chicago Gluten Free Support Group Meeting*
*Where: * *Great Taste Cafe *(on the second floor of McClurg Court) near the
Fitness Center.
355 N. Grand Avenue. $2 parking for 2 hours. $6 parking for up to 4 hours
(you can go see a movie after the meeting!).
*When:* Tuesday, June 15th at 6:00 pm
*Who: Everyone is welcome. No fee to attend.
Why:* Come talk with others living the gluten-free life! We will host a
general support group meeting and Josh Alper, owner of Great Taste Cafe,
will provide appetizers.
