Venture with us into the Land of Enchantment. Take in the unspoiled beauty of 7000 foot Rocky Mountain vistas, marvel at the contrast of ancient native culture mixed with modern arts, feasts of legendary cuisine - Gluten-free of course - and relax in rustic sophistication.
Travel & Leisure says Santa Fe is the #1 Cultural Getaway. The Spanish Colonial charm of this historic destination had been enchanting travelers for over 400 years. A unique blend of old and new - Native American, Spanish an European cultures, architecture, foods and way of life.
We'll stay at the historic landmark La Fonda On the Santa Fe Plaza Hotel in the heart of the Old City surrounded by offerings of folk art, local crafts, Pueblo Indian jewelry and so much more. We'll be right next door to the Palace of the Governors and a short walk to the Georgia O'Keefe Museum and other museums as well.
To acclimate us to downtown Santa Fe, we'll have a 2 hour walking tour of the Historic District, visiting some of the museums and shops along the way. Then a cooking demo of the Foods of New Mexico (Gluten-free, of course) at the highly acclaimed Santa Fe School of Cooking and then we eat what we watched cooked.
We have arranged for a day trip to Taos where we will be toured around the Taos Indian Pueblos - being the only UNESCO Living World Heritage Site in the United States. Constructed in 1340, they are considered to be the nations oldest continuously inhabited community. On the way up and back we'll stop to see other sights and cites, such as the Rio Grande Gorge.
A day to do your own thing is part of our itinerary because there are such a variety of things to do: Abiquiu O'Keefe's home and studio, Hike, Bike, Hot Air Balloon Rides, Run the Rapids, Museums, Bandelier National Monument and so much more - like shopping.
We hope you'll join us for our venture into a part of America like no other.
