Melinda Dennis, MS, RDN is a celiac-specializing dietitian, Nutrition Coordinator of the Celiac Center at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, and Senior Nutrition Consultant to the National Celiac Association. Her talk will address non-responsive celiac disease, its symptoms, some of its major causes, and specific dietary treatments for symptom relief and to promote healing. An update on gluten-free oats and arsenic in rice will be included.
Sheila Crowe, MD is the 2017 President of the American Gastroenterological Association, and Professor in the Division of Gastroenterology in the Department of Medicine at the University of California in San Diego. Her presentation will address celiac disease, prevention, triggers, genetics, microbiome, infections, different clinical presentations, non-celiac disease gluten sensitivity, and wheat starch and its role in wheat intolerance.

This extraordinary event is geared primarily towards dietitians, nutritionists, nurses, physicians, and those with celiac disease and non-celiac gluten sensitivity. Two level 2 CEUs are available for RDNs. (CEUs for registered nurses are pending approval). The seminar is being hosted by two non-profit Southern California chapters of the National Celiac Association.
