Event created by Scott Adams
Will you GO THE DISTANCE?
I'm Going the Distance for Families Facing Celiac Disease is the newest
fundraising initiative from the University of Chicago Celiac Disease
Program (UCCDP) that allows participants to enjoy athletic events in
their own hometown and raise money for the UCCDP at the same time.
Participants are asked to raise a minimum of $150. Funds raised will
support the UCCDP's efforts to advance medical and patient education on
celiac disease. We believe that education plays an important part in
helping to diagnose more celiacs--and we need more diagnosed patients in
order to advance research.
Two "GOING THE DISTANCE" Teams are being formed right now:
August 7: Chicago Distance Classic (5K walk, 5K run and half marathon
run)
WE ARE A DESIGNATED CHARITY FOR THIS EVENT!
REGISTRATION FOR CHICAGO DISTANCE CLASSIC:
www.chicagodistanceclassic.com
CHOOSE the TEAM REGISTRATION option for the event you are participating
in Your team is GOING THE DISTANCE. When you register, we will receive a

All participants in the Chicago Distance Classic will receive a Nike
Tech wick shirt, and our top 3 fundraisers will receive terrific Nike
prizes!
September 4: Buffalo Grove Stampede (5K walk and 5K run)
Let us know if you're interested and we'll put you on our team list for
September.
We'd like to recruit 100 team members, total, for these two events!
How You Can Help:
1. Join the team!
2. Involve friends and family, either to sponsor you, or to walk/run and
ask for sponsors of their own.
3. Bring your donations to event day!
4. Can't Join a Team in Chicago? You can participate in an event in your
area! (Call us to find out more.)
Or, sponsor our first Going the Distance participants who are riding
1,000 miles for celiac disease awareness. Go to www.1k4cd.com
- their fundraising goal is $7,500, and they
are more than halfway there! Let's see if we can help them beat their
own record!
oing the Distance is a great way to build exercise into your busy
schedule, while raising money for a great cause!
