I know there's a link somewhere to the page with pre-made sheets to give your child's school, teacher, etc. on Celiac Disease... but I can't find it anywhere. Can anyone give me the link or site or directions to it?

TIA!

:D Hi Tia,

You can find some notes to send to school if you go to the Celiac Sprue Association website and then look on the left hand side of the screen and click on

Cel-Kids Network. Then on there you will see the getting along at school section. Click on that and you will find some notes to print out and use. I sent these in for my son.

I disagree, Lori. Gluten is a particular protein, not a category of proteins. It is found in wheat, barley and rye. Other cereal grains have proteins that resemble gluten to one degree or another but are not gluten. Gluten is gluten. Avenin is avenin. But yes, it is true, that informally speaking, some have used the term "gluten" to refer to the proteins found in these other cereal grains. It's like the term "kleenex" has come to refer to all facial tissues.

This article might be helpful. It breaks down each type of test, and what a positive results means in terms of the probability that you might have celiac disease.

Search “deamidated gliadin Abs, IgG is 26.6/abnormal high” online for articles on your exact question above, and I’m sure this forum has an expert in explaining your test results as well.
