Is Whole Foods packaged guacamole gluten free? It doesn't have any gluten ingredients but its packaged on site. Wegmans labels their packaged on site guac as contianing possible cc from the way its packaged (presumably in a kitchen with people packaging loads of other things) but Whole Foods doesn't have a similar label.

Thoughts?

It is my understand that nothing packaged on site at Whole Foods is guaranteed to be free from gluten CC. Whole Foods has a sign on their salad bar stating that they are regrettably unable to offer any completely gluten free options.

aw dang, that's what I suspected but I bought it hoping otherwise lol. I'm going to put it into the fridge at work with a "free" sign on it.

Most grocery store guacamoles are going to come with a warning about CC when asked.  You just have to ask some questions about where it is prepared.  Texas must be a guacamole loving place, because our grocery store has a little area in the produce section just for guac and their fresh squeezed juices, so no CC going on there.  If it were made in the bakery area or with lots of things in the Deli, buyer beware.  Guacamole isn't too hard to make yourself, but I buy it premade because once you buy all of the ingredients they don't seem to balance out unless you make a huge quantity.  Lots of the packaged ones made by different companies available in the refrigerated section are gluten-free, but they just aren't as good as fresh made.

I avoid salad bars and prepackaged things like that come from the grocery. However Holy Guacamole does make gluten free guacamole that is amazing try looking into them.

I second the wholly guacomole recommendation. It's almost as good as fresh, and comes in individual packs that are easy to take to work. It's also labeled gluten free.

Just want to update you all on WHOLLY GUACAMOLE. As of 2018, this food is no longer gluten free. I ate it last night and again today to be sure and have been VERY sick with gluten reactions all day. :(

I advise you all to stay away. Please also let me hear your current experiences with this product. (I am thinking its the vinegar)

I bought it not long ago and it says gluten-free on it.  I can't imagine how it would contain gluten.  I eat it with no issues.

it a unlikely they would use malt vinegar.  If they do, they would list malt vinegar.  There is a legal definition of plain vinegar and it is NOT malt vinegar
