geneticist

has anyone seen a geneticist to confirm a diagnosis for their child? We have seen 4 drs. 2 said our test results say Celiacs and 2 drs said they do not show Celiacs. we never did a biopsy and he has been gluten-free for 2 yrs now. He does have one of the Celiac genes, however as i understand so does 40% of the population. since other automoimmune conditions can exsist where there is one, i'm considering seeing a geneticist to see what other genes he has and then weighing weather or not to put him back on gluten to get a biopsy done. my fear is starting another autoimmune condition if we reintroduce gluten again.

Genetic can not confirm a dx. The genes associated with Celiac disease aren't diagnostic so I'm not sure a geneticist will be able to 100% confirm.  What were the signs and symptoms was he having that lead you to testing to begin with? Did they resolve when going gluten-free?

Thanks again everyone! Twenty mins on here way more helpful than both Dr's combined 😅

I would go for four weeks to ensure a valid test, if you can tolerate it, that is.

Labcorp on demand has the test for 120 bucks which is pretty cool, that's what I did last time so I'll probably do that's again. I've been eating gluten for over a year again, if I increase my intake for two weeks and retest is that long enough?
