I had only been back for a few days from a year-long deployment overseas and it seemed to me my friends and family were all fascinated that I went to war on a gluten free (gluten-free) diet. They all knew I was gluten-free. I had been strictly adhering to the diet for well over a decade, and many of them had worried about my health in addition to my safety and well-being. In truth, it had been overwhelming at times. The military complex was not set up to cater to food allergies (or auto-immune responses) and I frequently had to order food to maintain a gluten-free existence.

      Hi @jadeceoliacuk I am a UK based coeliac and I have used a private nutritionist a few times. She is very highly qualified and having just googled her details, I see they are on this website. For that reason, I think you could trust the listings here as I am quite sure she would not want to associate with this website unless it was a trustworthy...

      thank you knitty kitty. I will give those articles a read. Yes he is deficient in Iron and Vit D, that is all they tested for. Do you have any tips for finding a pediatric nutritionalist? He has an NHS dietician who has been helpful sending me generalised info on increasing Iron and cutting out dairy but they won't see him now for another year and I...

      Yes, Lisinopril gave me an inguinal hernia from the persistant cough. Amlodipine doubled urine output and dry eyes so I could not wear contacts, another had me walking bent over like a ninety year old and one knocked out control of my quadracepts so knees would give out. None lowered my blood pressure. Average BP 132/67 for Oct 21 - 26. Lowest was 10...

      What Brands of Energy Bars are Gluten-Free?

      In general if you see "gluten-free" on a label in the USA, Canada, Europe, Australia, etc., it does mean that the food is safe for those with celiac disease, and it does NOT mean that there is 19ppm gluten in it, as some people might lead you to believe.       Muscle atrophy in legs

      Yes, thank you and I am seeing a neurologist , getting a script for a steroid followed by some PT when inflammation goes down. Good luck to you pasquale

      Sorry to hear about your situation , I have been diagnosed with a condition known as Polymyositis, treatable with steroids and PT thanks again, good luck pasquale

      I was undiagnosed for quite a few years. I now have neuropathy in my hands and feet. Be watchful of something like this and definitely see a neurologist if having symptoms like numbness in your extremities.
