i know that certain products from bath and body works contain wheat or oats, but i was wondering if anyone uses any lotions or anything from them that do not contain gluten. OR do you not risk the cc issue?

thanks

happy new years everyone =)

i called them and they were very helpful on the phone about gluten-free status of products they had information for... but then i had three discontinued products and they were supposed to call me back when they figured it out but never did. so i decided that since i couldn't see WRBO in the ingredients, i'd use them sparingly -- one was Moonlight Path, and one was the Lavender Vanilla Sleep line, and i can't remember the other one. :( oh, wait, it was Very Merry Cranberry bubble bath. they told me my Kitchen Spice antibacterial soap was gluten-free and that the white tea and ginger antibacterial lotion was *not* (and then i looked at it and it said wheat germ oil or something like that, plain as day!) i'm just out of it, i guess.

I love Moonlight Path, but it sets off an allergic reaction in me--the not breathing well, tearing, terrible headache type of reaction. I use their lotion and body sprays in White Tea and Ginger and Sweet Pea. I dont buy their soaps though. Deb

I can't speak for all the products, but I got rid of all their products b/c the ones I had all contained oat, and I wanted to stick with products that were all safe and all-natural.

I have the Vanilla Bean lotion and that is fine. I had 3 other items from them that contained oat or wheat though. Just read the label from what I have seen the offenders are clearly marked.

I'm super-duper-uber sensitive and I use their products all the time, including their lotion with oat protein in it. I wash my hands thoroughly before handling food though, so I don't know if cross contamination is an issue or not.

I LOVVVVVVVVVVVVEEEEEEEEEEEEE moonlight path! I have nearly every product in that fragrance-worn it sonce I was a kid! Love the wallflowers air freshener...... He he sorry. It's just one of my favorite things to smell

Welcome to the forum, @Connie Smitj! Can you give us a little more history about your celiac journey? How long ago were you diagnosed and how long have your been gluten free? Do you have other symptoms besides quick onset of hunger after eating and gut pain? How long have these symptoms being happening?
    • Connie Smitj
I eat a gluten-free diet but hunger pains start within an hour of eating dinner. I  had h pylori infection before I was diagnosed. Occasionally I’ll have bouts of pain. Could it come back or is it just celiac disease?

Scott, am I missing something? For the TTG-IGA normal is anything 3 or less and his score less than 2. I think that one is in normal range. @Brown42186, if the GI doc is not interested in doing an endoscopy with biopsy of the small bowel lining based on the elevated TTG-IGG I would request a repeat on the bloodwork now that you have resumed gluten consumption again.

Interesting for sure. Have you heard of potential cross reactivity to casein (dairy), corn, milket, iats, rice, and yeast?
    • Brown42186
Thanks for all the info! I'll see how my appointment next week goes. I think I'm going to push for having a blood test done again since I've been consistently eating gluten and go from there.
