I wanted let everyone know that I e-mailed the writer of the article that was released yesterday regarding McDonald's fries and that the trans fat was now being reported higher than before. I let him know that there was infact a larger issue to this story... which ofcourse we all know very well by now!

Anywhoo, he responded back to me basically saying that he will keep it in mind and to please give him a heads up if myself or anyone else decides to file a lawsuit. (Which I thought was interesting since nothing in my e-mail said anything about a potential lawsuit).

Anyway not the greatest response, but atleast he responded.

As a former newspaper and wire service reporter, to me this means he isn't interested unless somebody files a lawsuit. And even then it would have to be a really big deal lawsuit.

Yeah I realize that. That's why I said it wasn't the greatest response, but atleast it was nice that he responded.

David contacted me this morning and he is now doing an article on this! I'll post as soon as we see the article.

He already replied on the original McD's fries thread. He also gave us the text of his article. He was hoping that the printed edition of the WSJ would pick it up, which I see today that it did. Congratulations of getting him to notice us. He signed in as a member to let us know.

Thank goodness -- it's nice to know that truth is just as important as a lawsuit . . . . .

I have no specific recommendations but I would suggest looking for products that are advertised as produced in a dedicated gluten-free facility. That should eliminate one possible route of cross contamination. It doesn't guarantee that none of the ingredients going into the product are totally gluten free but is should eliminate adding more CC to the mix via processing machinery.  One of the issues you may be experiencing is that testing has shown that a significant percentage of "Certified Gluten Free" products can test far in excess of 10ppm. There was an article appearing in this forum back last summer outlining the results of testing that showed this to be true. So, it may be somewhat of a pig in a poke when you buy this stuff, regardless of how it is billed. It may be safe for you if it actually fits within the stated requirements of it's billing.

I can still have a reaction from “certified gluten free” products I don’t like having to use the eat and see what my body does approach are there really any purely gluten free products or do I just have to make all of my own food?

Hi I just wanted to update you all and let you know that I finally have my diagnosis. 2 weeks ago I had my third gastroscopy and the biopsy confirmed the damage. Thank you for giving me the information I needed to advocate for myself when I a was a feeling so lost!
