Just got home from dinner on the General Jackson Dinner Cruise and Show Boat! WOW!!

INFO Open Original Shared Link

We called a few days and left a message about gluten-free stuff. The Chef called back, personaly! And he siad "I am familure with gluten free, we will be able to take care of you just let you server know."

Well they werent kidding! I told the server and he ALSO WAS FAMILURE WITH gluten-free EATING! And they had a spereate meal for me with key items missing, and get this when they brough out the Cheesecake deserts, they brought me a fresh fruit platter! Was great. I had steak and chicken and they sub'd in a baked potateo insted of the side everyone else got, and a pile of steamed veggeis too. Could not finish all they gave me. I had expected to go home hungry.

If your visiting and looking for a place to go, I highly recomend it! We when with a church group (resvered the whole boat), so the price for us was $25/person, but I think the full price is closer to $50 dunno. But its a 3 hour cruis with live entertianmen and all that. Check it out at the link above. :D

OH darn I was in Nashville a few months ago and didn't know about this but I did have no problems finding safe places to eat there, so it was a good trip. I'll check it out when I go next year, thanks for the info!

I must say I had never considered them a possiblity before, and if not for this specail church even probably never would have gone. Trapped on a boat for 3 hours, with nothing to eat did not sound like a plan! heheh

Now though , everyhing is different. I feel fine today so chef must have done it right. :D

Vincent--So happy to hear of your great evening! I just love Nashville. When we lived in GA, we would visit there at least once a year. We spent Christmas at the Opryland Hotel a few times, also. Such a beautiful place--I want to get back there again, but it's harder living in NJ.

I have no specific recommendations but I would suggest looking for products that are advertised as produced in a dedicated gluten-free facility. That should eliminate one possible route of cross contamination. It doesn't guarantee that none of the ingredients going into the product are totally gluten free but is should eliminate adding more CC to the mix via processing machinery.  One of the issues you may be experiencing is that testing has shown that a significant percentage of "Certified Gluten Free" products can test far in excess of 10ppm. There was an article appearing in this forum back last summer outlining the results of testing that showed this to be true. So, it may be somewhat of a pig in a poke when you buy this stuff, regardless of how it is billed. It may be safe for you if it actually fits within the stated requirements of it's billing.

I can still have a reaction from “certified gluten free” products I don’t like having to use the eat and see what my body does approach are there really any purely gluten free products or do I just have to make all of my own food?

Hi I just wanted to update you all and let you know that I finally have my diagnosis. 2 weeks ago I had my third gastroscopy and the biopsy confirmed the damage. Thank you for giving me the information I needed to advocate for myself when I a was a feeling so lost!
