Suave Products

I wrote to Suave to see if any of their products are gluten free. I found their answer interesting:

Hi Cindy,

Thanks for writing!

We do not specifically test our products for the presence of gluten, a sticky protein found in some grains such as wheat. Gluten may be present in products that contain derivatives of wheat, oat, rye, and barley. In labeling our products, our company follows the guidelines established by the International Nomenclature for Cosmetics Ingredients (INCI)process. Therefore, if we use an ingredient derived from a grain such as wheat, oat, rye and / or barley, those names will appear on the label.

Example

One common example is "Hydrolyzed Wheat Protein" If you see this name on the label, the material was derived from wheat, so the product may contain gluten.

We recommend that you consult with your physician as to whether your exposure to grain derivatives from the use of personal care products will cause the symptoms of Celiac-Sprue Disease.

We hope this information is helpful,

Your friends at Suave

Suave must be owned by unilever. That was the same response someone got about dove products.

Yeah, I got something of the same answer. I wrote back Hi! Thanks for getting back to me!! I wish you wouldn't be so perky when you are talking about something which can ultimately lead to my death. Gluten destroys a portion of my brain, and I wish that your company, being responsible to its consumers, would investigate further whether you buy ingredients from your suppliers which contain gluten. Thank you for your vague and incomplete answer! Hope they got the message . . . I also asked them NOT to add an advertisement for me to purchase yet another one of their products, given that they REALLY don't care much about my health. What can I say, I was in a bad mood . . . . . Lynne

Hmmmm.

I have been using Suave as the label looks ok. But my hair has been falling out a lot again. So I am not sure if it is from shampoo again (this happened when I was using shampoo with wheat in it) or if I could have a thyroid issue. I need to get that checked out.

Thanks

Becky

Hi there, I have a few questions about my daughter who is 2 and has been gluten-free for two weeks following her diagnosis please! She was originally diagnosed due to having faecal impaction and chronic constipation. Since starting the gluten-free diet, we are still on daily movicol but she is pooping a lot more than before. Could this finally be her naturally clearing out the backlog as her digestive system is actually starting to work again? Secondly the colour of her stools has recently been a bit pinkish. It does not look like blood, but I wondered if this is normal again for a colour shift post diet change? Finally, she has had a very large tummy due to the coeliac. How long does this take to go down? Thank you!

Everything I had was included in the cruise fare. The coffee at cafe al baico is not but,  ALL baked goods are! If you want a coffee, latte, or espresso the charge is $4 to $5. Not bad for some excellent coffee! The buffet and spa cafe has free coffee and drinks. Also large selection of the best ice cream, sorbet, and gelato at sea for free!  with Celebrity I don’t feel like I have a handicap.

I love that there's wheat all over the wall paper for the gluten-free section. It looks good. Was the café included in the free meals or was that extra?

The best gluten-free pizza is on the Celebrity Summit, but the Celebrity Beyond Pizza still beats and land gluten-free pizza.
