Last week I saw someone mention MAC lipstick as a potential source of being gluten-ed!! I suspect that this is the missing link I have been trying to figure out.

I wear viva glam (#5, I think).

I emailed MAC after I read the post, but I haven't heard back from them.

Anyone know anything?

Your best bet is to call them to verify the products....I believe their number is on the website. I had a list of products I use, and I just went through the list with them and they could tell me if it was gluten-free or not. They were very helpful.

They will probably e-mail you an ingredient list, but won't say whether its gluten-free or not...that was my experience with MAC. You can post the list if you want help discerning it. I definitely know the lip conditioner and amplified cream lipsticks have gluten. Not sure about viva glam.

      I've not been to Australia, but they have one of the strictest gluten-free standards in the world, and I've heard that going to the larger cities there is easy for those who are gluten-free.

      There is plenty of gluten food that is unplatable also. The trouble in restaurants is that wheat,  like the Frank's Hot Sauce commercial; "They throw that bleep on everything." In my opinion, the underlying problem is compromised immune system due to vitamin D deficiency and Green Revolution modern wheat.  50% of the industrialized world are vitamin D deficient and we are urged to avoid sun and limit oral vitamin D intake to the minimum.   Non Celiac Gluten Sensitivity became an official diagnosis only 10 years after modern wheat was marketed.

      I understand from one of our forum moderators who is UK-based that the benefits of having an official celiac diagnosis varies depending on your postal code. So then, it must be a benefit tied to local government rather than national government.
