Delimex Taquitos?

I got a list from Heinz and they said that their Delimex chicken taquitos are gluten free. I am sort of shocked that there is actually a frozen food that I can feed my kids... not to feed them all the time or anything, but for a quick supper when I don't feel like cooking. I was reading the label and saw Textured Vegetable Protein (soy)... I thought TVP was on the list of "bad" ingredients? Anybody ever try these and have an opinion?

It was on the list because no one knew what is was made of. Your' specified soy, so it is alright. Do they have beef in those things?

trader joe's has a couple of gluten-free frozen items as well. (not a lot, but some.)

I went to the Delimex website...here is what I found there in their frequently asked questions section. It only talks about wheat gluten, not rye, barley and oats so it still sounds pretty questionable to me:

1) Are your products free of wheat gluten? The following products are free of wheat gluten:

Beef Taquitos, Chicken Taquitos, 3-Cheese Taquitos, Pepperoni Pizza Taquitos, and all our

Tamales.

If you have been on a gluten-free diet for four years, all of the testing with the exception of the HLA one, was a waste of time. Not sure why your physician would have even considered it.  But that doesn't explain your ongoing celiac-like symptoms. It's beginning to look like they are being caused by some other medical issues unrelated to a gluten disorder.

Thanks for the insight!  It has been a whirlwind...very overwhelming and frustrating at times.  But what you are saying makes sense to me. I have been on a Gluten Free diet for 4 years now Its been suggested to me to get a second opinion

      THANKS again!!!

Sorry for rambling on so much. It was not clear to me from you first post that, although you have known for several years that gluten had been causing you distress, that you had already eliminated it from your diet.

Because a close friend has had Celiac for years - I've eliminated gluten after the ER said all I had was a huge pocket of gas several years ago.  The gluten will be my 4th autoimmune disease.  Thanks so much for all your input!!!
