You may want to add a magnesium glycinate supplement because thiamine needs magnesium to work properly.  Do NOT take high doses of magnesium because it acts as a laxative.

Fran4,

I just wanted to say Magnesium Glycinate will not cause a/the Laxative affect that some Magnesium Citrates do in  HIGH doses as Knitty Kitty notes.

The Citrate portion of Mag Citrate turns to Citric Acid in the stomach leading to a Laxative affect in higher doses.

Because Magnesium Glycinate is bound to the amino acid Glycine taking Magnesium Glycinate is a superior form (though a little harder to find and more expensive) it has the least side effects.

Super easy to take! But more difficult to find.

Taking Magnesium Citrate at no more than 200mg per dose and with Meals usually is low enough dose to get the benefits of Magnesium without the laxative effects....

Though Magnesium Citrate in divided doses do not flush most people unless it the Liquid or Powdered (Natural Vitality Natural Calm) form.....then the surface area of the powder/liquid is high enough to trigger a mild laxative effect.....especially on an empty stomach!

So never take Magnesium Citrate on an empty stomach and you should do fine with Magnesium Citrate or Magnesium Glycinate!

I started to have restful dreams soon after begining Magnesium Citrate and my Charlie Horse IE (Leg Cramps) magically disappeared!

I hope this is helpful but it is not medical advice.

So I got curious and looked up the address of Global Food and found that their listed address is the EXACT same as the Roastery Coast nuts, the original product that I found the Global Food Gluten Free Certification on. Global Food and Roastery Coast are the same company. I'm seriously cracking up at how sketchy it is.  ROASTERY COAST OFFICE 40222 La Quinta LN B102  Palmdale, CA 93551   Global Food Office Address: 40222 La Quinta LN, STE B-102Palmdale, CA 93551   Business Hours: Monday - Friday: 8:30am to 5:00pm   Telephone: 661-977-2300   Email: info@globalfoodcert.org

The only good part I see in their response is the gluten free facility.

Yeah, it's just a marketing ploy.
