Small Food Processor

I am doing research on buying a small food processor - under $50 US dollars. I am leaning towards the Cuisinart. Any suggestions?

I want to make applesauce and my own sauces like bbq sauce, mayo, mustard, etc.

Or would just buying food mill do the trick? But that won't work for the sauces, right?

I have the black and decker mini processor and I don't like it. When you are using it as a food processor it makes a huge mess everywhere. It shoots food everywhere because the shoot is too short. I don't like the chopper section either because the blade you use for chopping is too high from the bottom so it doesn't chop a little at a time.

I had the b and d chopper, but the chopper motor wore out after many years, so now I use my chopper blade in my processor.

Have never tried Cuinart. hope this helps .. marcia

Please let us know what you think. I was glad to see your post, since a small food processor is something I'm needing, too.

Hi!

I tried the processor for applesauce and I think it worked just fine for what I needed it to do. It is small and works well for me since I am using for only 1 or 2 people. Anything beyond that, it might be too small.

I would like to try it on raw almonds to make my own almond flour. Maybe sometime later this week. I will keep you posted! :-)

Great! Please do keep us posted, as it is a small processor that I want, also.

I am asking for my six year old. It took us four months to figure out what was going on- a brand of extra virgin olive oil we were using for every meal. We changed the brand she instantly got better- from Gi to nephropathy to joint pain, to tinnitus to dry eyes. You name a symptom and she has it when glutened, so it's difficult to second guess when it's all so obvious. Anyway, two months later, i bought another bottle of the same brand, and the olive oil was sourced form 5 different countries, as opposed to one. It took exactly a month for her symptom to start all over again. And sure enough it was the oil! I am sorta getting tired of trying to get these "healthy" oils glutening her. Does anyone have any thought on cooking oils that they think for sure are not contaminated, or any certified glutenfee brands they suggest? I'd appreciate. At this point, I just need any oil that's free of contamination- healthy or otherwise. Healthier is better. But i'll tkae anything. Thanks

@CeliacPsycho246, You might try cutting out dairy.  Some of us react to Casein, the protein in dairy, the same as to gluten.
