Right sided pain

Unfortunately this past month I accidentally glutened myself twice by eating cookies that I believed were gluten-free but turned out not to be. I experienced digestive discomfort mental and emotional depression anxiety and fatigue. This all lasted about a month to five weeks from start to finish. I was able to go back to eating all the foods I was able to eat and I had no issues. For the past couple of days I started feeling that right side pain again and looked into the specific cottage cheese by Breakstone and found out that there might be cross-contamination in there or gluten but they can’t tell me 100% sure. So I might have been glutened from that. Every time I eat now I feel that right sided pain and guess even though I know I’m eating gluten free foods. Is it normal to feel this right sided pain and gas for days after eating gluten or being contaminated by it?  This has been a very difficult month for me because I have been so good since September that’s the month I was diagnosed, and now I’m having all these issues. Every time I eat I feel this pain and I think I’m eating gluten but I’m not. Is it that my intestines are very sore and inflamed and they’re bothered by every time I eat some thing? Or just go away over time? I remember feeling this feeling daily before I was diagnosed . I just don’t remember how long it took to resolve. Looking forward to hearing from you and all your helpful advice.

I feel for you. I was diagnosed in 2006. You do your best to eat gluten-free -- trust me, it's easier now than 15 years ago. But I always know when I've had some cross-contamination, and the right side pain is one a handful of symptoms. For me, it lasts 1-3 days and may also include bloating, gas, belching, brain fog, joint pain and pooping issues. Oh, and let's not forget fatigue.

I am not taking anything except for the multivitamins that I purchased from the supermarket.

The critic acid and sodium citrate is corn unfortunately and they don’t have to label corn because it’s not part of the top 9 allergen and not mandatory 😭

Yaya, from the JAMA study you refer to: "Taking 60,000 international units (IU) a day of vitamin D for several months has been shown to cause toxicity." No one on this forum is recommending  taking anywhere near that amount. We're talking about 5-10,000IU daily.

"Doses higher than the RDA are sometimes used to treat medical problems such as vitamin D deficiency, but these are given only under the care of a doctor for a specified time frame. Blood levels should be monitored while someone is taking high doses of vitamin D." Quoted from the Healthline article @Yaya linked above...
