Remembering our lovely Queen

I know this has nothing to do with Coeliac disease but as a British contributor to this forum I hope you don't mind if I mark the passing of the Queen.   A very sad day.

I found this sweet image on the internet, reminding me of the video she made with Paddington The Bear to mark her Platinum Jubilee only three months ago.   I wanted to post that video but it won't let me, but if you haven't seen it, it is on youtube.   It is entitled "Ma’amalade sandwich Your Majesty?"

Yes, as very sad day indeed! What an amazing reign, and life!! 96, that's amazing!

King Charles has some big shoes to fill, and he seems to have grown up quite a lot since his days with Princess Dianna. I hope he can live up to his new role!

By the way...long live the King! 😃

Condolences, @cristiana.

Wonderful video!  I always wondered what she carried in her purse.  She will be greatly missed.

Thank you both.

What the Queen actually carried in her handbag was hotly debated!   That was a real coup, trust Paddington the Bear to find out!  I am not sure if it was a gluten free sandwich, though...

She was so loved, and even people who didn't think themselves as Royalists are saying how surprised they are at how upset they find themselves at her passing.

My own family, like so many others in this country, had her as a guest every Christmas - in a manner of speaking - when everything stopped at 3pm on Christmas Day for the annual Christmas "Queen's Speech" on TV.   She was on TV all the time, visiting hospitals, welcoming Heads of State, etc and was the patron of so many charities.

It feels very disorientating that someone who has been there for seventy years has gone.

So very sorry for your loss.  She was so graceful and gracious. A true example of service in action. May she rest in peace reunited with the love of her life.   Best wishes to King Charles III and long live the King!

I am so sorry for your loss...what a remarkable person she was!  I've been to England twice...I remember standing outside of Buckingham Palace hoping to somehow get a glimpse of her.  I loved visiting Windsor Castle and all of it's rich history.  Queen Elizabeth will be dearly missed by people through out the world, including myself.

And the bit with Paddington was amazing!

Thank you @icelandgirl, for your kind words, she will be greatly missed.  I just cannot get the images of the past few days out of my mind, scenes I am sure I will never forget - whether it was the mile long parade down Pall Mall or the scene where her corgis were sitting outside Windsor Castle, waiting for her return....

I was privileged enough to attend her Golden Jubilee Party (along with thousands of others, mind you!) at Buckingham Palace 20 years ago.   You could apply for free tickets, it was a sort of lottery, and ours were chosen.  All the Royal family were there, the Prime Minister, too, and - bizarrely - Mr Bean (or if you prefer, Johnny English).  It was the most incredible experience.   We were all given mini hampers for a picnic which I have kept, including a bottle of champagne which probably has passed its best by now, but I don't want to open it.

Now are thoughts and prayers are with our King, of course.  We think the Coronation will be in the Spring.  Maybe you could come over for that?!👑

Yes!  Then we'd have to figure out a way to meet up for tea!

Hey I’m new here and these are my test results for the first time I ever got them done. I have Hypothyroidism and Hashimotos too.  Immunoglobulin IgA is 299 normal Anti Gliadin Ab, IgA is a 4 normal Anti Gliadin Ab, IgG is a 2 normal Tissue Transglutaminase IgA is a <2 normal Tissue Transglutaminase IgG is a 7 weak positive  I’m waiting for my Doctor to get back to me about what to do now. I know gluten makes me sick plus a bunch of other symptoms too.

Welcome to the  forum, @Babygirl877! You may find that your gastritis and your gastroparesis improve once you begin following a gluten free diet consistently. But to arrive at consistency in eating gluten free can involve a real learning curve. This might help:

@ErinV, from you first post: " Her doctor’s office recently changed EMRs so I can’t remember the exact numbers of all her other blood tests, but I know she was positive for both genetic markers." But then you say in your most recent post, "We’ve all tested and neither of us, nor my other daughter have the genetic markers for it." Those two statements are in direct contradiction to one another. Where did she get the genes for potential celiac disease then?
    • ErinV
Hi- thanks for the reply. Happy to give more information. No one in my family or the fathers family has celiacs. We’ve all tested and neither of us, nor my other daughter have the genetic markers for it.    these are what the lab results say: Endomysial Antibody Titer- Normal value: <1:5 titer.  Hers were at 1:10 the past 3 times and then this time it came back on her portal as just “negative” Her platelets this time came back at 451, and the normal range is 150-400. They have been in the normal range the past three times. Tissue Transglutaminase Ab-  <15.0 Antibody not detected > or = 15.0 Antibody detected Her Value 76.1 this time. 8 months ago it was 140, 6 months before that it was 120 and the time before that it was 72. From what I’ve read and from the doctor, this is the most specific test for celiac and what we should focus on the most. 76 is still extremely high, but why did it decrease when nothing in her diet has changed?
