Hello i am doing a lot better on a gluten free diet and have now started to not wear masks when i go into stores as i was afraid of breathing in gluten which i realize was silly or am i wrong. I feel like im the only celiac that believes this kind of thing or are there others that feel this way too or am i putting myself at risk.

You are not the only person who feels this way, and a quick search of our forum for "inhaling" shows many others who are concerned about this:

While I think any risk from, for example the scent of baking wheat bread, would be incredibly low, there may be risks for celiacs who work in a regular bakery and are around wheat flour all day long where it would likely end up in their mouths. 

There is also nothing wrong with wearing a mask when you shop if you are concerned about this...others might simply think you are still worried about covid or getting the flu. In Asia wearing masks has be a very common thing for decades, mostly due to air pollution.

Are you super sensitive, and do you have dermatitis herpetiformis?

Thanks for the reply. Thats what i did I was wearing a mask around stores for a year to get to full health but now im at the point where i do not want to live in this much fear do i really have to wear a mask for the rest of my life.

Most people with celiac disease don't need to worry about this, but you didn't describe how sensitive you are.

      There is plenty of gluten food that is unplatable also. The trouble in restaurants is that wheat,  like the Frank's Hot Sauce commercial; "They throw that bleep on everything." In my opinion, the underlying problem is compromised immune system due to vitamin D deficiency and Green Revolution modern wheat.  50% of the industrialized world are vitamin D deficient and we are urged to avoid sun and limit oral vitamin D intake to the minimum.   Non Celiac Gluten Sensitivity became an official diagnosis only 10 years after modern wheat was marketed.

      I understand from one of our forum moderators who is UK-based that the benefits of having an official celiac diagnosis varies depending on your postal code. So then, it must be a benefit tied to local government rather than national government.

      Obviously, you have looked at all this from various angles and I respect that. But consider this, you could trial the gluten-free diet for six months to see if it results in lower ttg-iga scores. If so, it is another piece of evidence pointing to celiac disease. You could then go off the gluten fast and return to a gluten loaded diet for weeks or months and repeat the colonoscopy/endoscopy. My point is that trialing a gluten-free diet does not eliminate the possibility of getting valid celiac retesting at a late date if you are willing to engage with the gluten challenge.
